Why so little reunion participation?

Hi everyone. When this site was first started,Patricia Weppler was inundated with requests for a reunion. She selflessly complied and spent a lot of time and energy, along with Howard Goldman, putting one together. To date only 13 people have signed up. The event is in danger of being cancelled. Can people please post their reasons for not wanting to attend? Perhaps changes can be made. I know many of you are out of town or cannot predict your schedule in advance. But are there other reasons? Is it just procrastination and you will all be signing up later?? The problem with that is that it will have been cancelled by then because permits need to be purchased now.

We are thinking about attending. Will there be tours of the school? Are children invited? I didn't see anything about it being a family event. It would be interesting for them to see where I went to elementary school. My boys are 6 and 11 now. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, the timing does not work out for me to attend the Reunion which makes me very sad because, ever since I left NY in '63, I have always dreamed of visiting my old school and neighborhood. I was wondering though if anyone will document the Reunion (photos or video) and post it on the site for those who won't be attending. I sincerely hope you get enough RSVP's to make this happen.

I still can't believe that with 475 members to this site less than 30 have responded to the reunion. I hope everyone got the "last chance" email. I know a few people that I heard from said they wanted to go but I don't see their names on the paid list. What are they waiting for! I sure hope they get their act together and mail in those checks. I know it took me a while to remember!

I would love to attend, however I have some work and travel commitments that make it impossible. I hope you get the numbers you need to make it happen. Would love to see some photos from the event.

Hi, and let me add another sorry for the late response.

I will definitely attend the reunion, but as I live in Tokyo and we don't really do personal checks here, I wasn't sure how best to pay. Would an international money order be OK?

I would wait because it looks like it will be cancelled and I don't want you to go to the trouble. We are way too low in numbers. But Patricia and/or Howard will give the official word. I am so impressed that you would come from Tokyo and people are balking at a $100 price tag! I just don't get it! Claire

Just to get everyone on the same page......

As of right now we have about 50 paid people for the reunion and are still accepting checks.

The reunion is an "adult only" event. That is how we originally set it up with the school and also why we made it an evening event.

I am sure plenty of reunion photos will end up on the alumni site!

Chisako, I will email you regarding your international question!

Does that mean that as of now the reunion is still on? I'm hoping that there are many more potential participants that just haven't gotten around to sending in their checks.
