Why so little reunion participation?

Hi Claire. I was also surprised by the small number of replies. Hopefully there are a lot more people like me that plan on attending but haven't gotten around to mailing their checks. I'll try to get mine out this week. I know that a few people I spoke to thought it was a lot of money so they were holding back on sending it so far in advance. Ken Koppelman

I want to thank you Ken for being the only person with the kindness or guts or whatever it takes to bother to reply to my posting of 6 weeks ago!
Yes the price seems to have put people off so it has been reduced. And hopefully there are others out there on the verge of mailing in their checks.
A decision will have to made after the first of the year as to whether or not we have enough people to hold the reunion -at this point it doesn't look promising at all.

To be honest, Claire, I just happened to notice your posting and couldn't believe that it has been there for 6 weeks with no one replying. I think it's possible that many others haven't noticed it as well. Since the critical point is right around the bend, may I suggest some way of notifying all those on the website that if they don't commit by the first of the year the reunion will be canceled? Most people I spoke to thought the reunion was a wonderful idea. I would hate to miss it because too many people hesitated to mail their payments. Thanks for caring. Ken

Andy,

That's very kind of you. You were always one of my favorite "older guys"! It was always challenging and fun for me to keep up with the big boys on the playground. You always treated me with respect that's still remembered today. Hope to see you at the reunion.

you might get a kick out of this. i got hooked into a hardball league, 35 and over down here. sfbl.com lauderdale dodgers masters division, check out my stats-- the arm and the legs went out after my second game, but i guess i can retire batting 1000

I am having a hard time justifying the $300 cost for myself and my brother, not including our spouses, who would also like to attend. Prehaps it would be possible to "reinvent" the reunion to be a less costly affair. Sorry I just saw the posting today when my brother called me about it today. Maybe y'all want to do an email blast to alert everyone.

The whole point of the reunion was to get old friends together at our childhood stomping ground for a great night. Either people are willing to spend $100 for a "one night only" event at PS 164 or not.

I will be emailing everyone on the site after the New Year for a LAST CALL. If we don't get the numbers we need to have the reunion, then everyone who already paid will get a refund.
