Elliot, you must be old. But I do remember that place although we went to the Little Neck Pool, where Willie the garbageman was the lifeguard.

It was Little Neck Country Club i think they called it, you could see it if you were going east on the grand central from us. Deepdale was near there but was a different club.

Did Flamingo have the same exercise room as Little Neck where the main machine was the one that you put the belt around your waist and the machine would jiggle your stomach?

How about the game where you sat in a car seat and you drove a car on a stick along a moving screen? And how about those ponies in the pony ride corral that looked like they already had two hooves in the ground.
And the hot dogs!

i have pictures my father shot of me in a boat ride at Adventure's Inn circa 1957. all the men watching their kids had short white-sleeve dress shirts on, because that was sort of the weekend uniform because so many men wore white shirts with ties during the week - i imagine there was a surfeit of white shirts in those days. (btw, the picture has me in the same boat with Abby Gilbert - class of '64)

Yes I remember Adventurer's Inn, but does anyone also remember FairyLand on Queens Blvd? It was a little past Alexander's going towards the city. Our dad would always take us there on Sat. or Sunday mornings, so our mom could sleep in. Then we would come home and have the typical Sunday brunch, bagels, lox, cream cheese, and white fish, sturgeon, sable, and eggs. Those were the good ole days for sure!!!!!

Adventure's Inn was a true paradise for kids. The rides, the restaurant, the arcade. It was way ahead of it's time and yes, it's a shame that it didn't last longer.

I remember Adventure's Inn like it was yesterday.I remember going on a ride that went upside down and thought what a blast.I loved going there.Ialso remember walking there from Main and Jewel with my friends.Now that was a long walk.
