Hi Bruce
I recently came across this website. I don't know if you remember me
as I moved away in 1971. I currently live in central NJ. I am married with 2 children and I am a CPA. How old are your children? Anyway my cousin Sharyn Segal was a good friend of your sister Adele. She asked if you
could send me your sisters e-mail address so they can get in touch.
You can send it to my e-mail address: sindy.manas@gmail.com

Hey Bruce:

Sorry for not writing back for so long. It's great to hear from everyone on this website. I need to figure out how to put names along with those pictures.

I keep in touch with Tiv and Mitch Pilcer and Nancy Schacter Barr. Seems like everyone is an attorney, accountant, or doctor. Somehow I wound up following my Dad's footsteps and becoming an engineer. Its worked out pretty good for me, but sometimes I think I should have followed the traditional "nice Jewish boy" path.

Hey Bruce,

Looks like David Stern's Hannukah wishes came true as the Celts play the Lakers. People in SoCal are "geeked" up. If
Ray Allen can be consistent, I see the Celtics prevailing. Kool to
see Kobe go up against his buddy, K. Garnett, so much for college experience. Regarding your Kevin Love comment, I think
he should have stayed one more year at UCLA. He needs to bulk up, I do however love that outlet pass he throws. The NBA, "no babies allowed."

Hi Bruce,

I remember you. My bro is in Fla. right now with our Mom. I just got back last night. He doesn't email, I do all that. I will tell him you wrote. This is turning into quite a great thing. I'm remembering all about the old neighborhood. We lived in the same building with the Rothstein's.

Bruce,
It would be great to get together at some point. Who are you working for currently? Are you on you own or in-house counsel for a financial services firm? Thanks for the note and let's keep in touch.

Hi Bruce - yes I am Billy's sister. He is living in Memphis right now. He was here last month visiting our parents and is considering moving to FL. Dennis is living north of Orlando (we have been seperated for 15 years but are good friends ). We have two great kids. I will let both Dennis and Bill know that you were asking for them. This site brings back so many great memories of the old neighborhood. Thanks for making contact. - Diane

Bruce,

Iowa State is a nice place - Ames a good college town. If your daughter needs an adult to connect with, I have a very good friend who is an Associate Dean up there. Let me know if she needs a connection or some support. And by the way, there was a cute novel a few years back that was supposedly based on Iowa State - "Moo" by Jane Smiley. I don't recall all the details but it may be a fun read.

A bunch of us went back to NYC in 1999 for our 30 year high school reunion from Jamaica. Interesting experience as they held an "electronic" reunion for months before the actual event so people could re-connect via e-mail. That reunion was the last time I saw Arnie. I hadn't seen him in years, and he looked great - exactly the same as the prior time I had seen him 20-25 years or so earlier. I was in close contact with Mike Schwartz when I lived in Colorado, and Mike always maintained some relationship with Arnie - Arnie used to come out and ski with him. I did call Arnie a few years back and asked him to join us when several of us met back in the Village, but he was traveling and couldn't make it. I understand he has done really well in some sort of Wall Street type of work, is married, living up in the Scarsdale area - has two kids as I recall, we talked about his son who was at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mike, incidentally, moved to Napa Valley with his wife, son and step son. Good people. We still talk every few months.

We all talked about doing some sort of golf outing when we were together in April in NY, but who knows if that will pan out. I travel a lot and always push to get us all together when I get to NYC - just doesn't happen that frequently - when I go east it most often is to Washington, DC 3-4 times a year. I have a trip to Boston in a few weeks and look forward to seeing Lanny (who is still in NYC) and my older brother Howie (who lives in Rhode Island). We are all gathering in Rhode Island for a few days. We are all wondering if Rhode Island is big enough to handle that much Ginsberg "good-looks" in one weekend...

By the way, I think that Minneapolis is a really nice place. Most of the east and west coast snobs don't realize it (probably our old acquaintances included), but it is among the nicer cities in the U.S. I'm guessing you went to school up there or somehow migrated to Minneapolis for family related reasons. We have a number of U of Minn grads on our faculty and they are very fond of the place.

Thanks for staying connected.

Good to hear from you. Throughout the years a bunch of us were asking where is Bruce, Scott Currie, Larry Stone, Jeff Marcus, etc. Years ago we gave Mitch Schorr the task of finding everyone and he did a good job with his very limited recsources. Scott and larry still hold the record for the longest scorelss stickball game in Queens history-16 innings. They both couldn't hit and called it off.
Well. I still see some of the guys occasiopnally, mostly Don Reichmen over the years.he lives near Princeton. Maybe you can come in next year for our local reunion that we have in 08 & 07. in NYC. I am SAtu frankel reconnected 2 years ago and now we go to Met & Yankee games. I am a big Met fan and yake joy when the Yanks lose.

Bruce,
Great to hear from you. I didn't remember how we were in touch, so thanks for shaking my poor memory. Still in touch with Marilyn irregularly. Glad to hear that you are doing well and happy in Mn. My girls are 24 and 22, so you're a bit behind me. Unbelievable huh? I know you'll think I'm nuts, but when I saw the MacAlevy sisters listed, it brought back some crazy memories on 78th Rd. I'm sure you remember my hots for Alison Berger (Steinbach), but I remember well your crush on Susan Berman. Pretty neat to see her photo. Same face and smile. We had some good times . The picture on the site of Schorr almost brought tears to my eyes. Glad to hear he is still around. I've thought about him often through the years.
Yes, I'm in the financial services business. I've been in the investment business for 30 years and have been with Northern Trust for 16. Started as a portfolio manager and now a SVP/ Wealth Advisor on a team in LA responsible for growing our business out here. Northern, as you may know, is a Chicago based Trust and Investment Management Firm.

Sorry to hear about your parents. My Dad died in 1986 of a heart attack (at 59). My Mom is in Tamarac, Fl. and still kickin' at 80 this year. My Aunt Ester and Uncle Jack, who you will remember from 78th Rd are still going (not so) strong at 85. They are down there as well.

Just read a note you sent to DG about the potential for an LA/ Celts series. Definitely will happen. If you ask me about Kevin Love or OJ Mayo (since I got my graduate degree at SC), Love is too small to make an impact in the NBA, though he will get drafted high. Great head for the game but physically too small. He'll have to grow. OJ is a great talent, but will need a few years of work. Beasley from Memphis in my mind is the real deal. Just figured I'd give you my two cents!! Stay in touch and let me know when you might be out here. Can't say Mn. is on my radar. Take care.
