Kenny, started looking for the pictures and got caught up reading everyones comments. Will continue to look for them. This website is growing. I told my brother and sister about it.

Kenny, I just got on this site and am having a blast seeing all the names and memories. I'm having more fun with my brother's friend, Andy and talking about the playground. I did a lot of hanging out there.

Thanks Ken! It's interesting to watch this alumni website grow. I've already contacted a couple of old friends about it, and if enough of us do that we could gain the momentum to reach a lot more. And then it will be fun to retrace and reconstruct the patterns of friendship, family, and neighborhood connection through all the posts that follow.

I've tried to track Howie down on the web myself, without any luck. But with our growing numbers here I'm thinking it's just a matter of time - 3 brothers means 3 chances over 3 grade cohorts. The possibilities abound! I'll drop a line to Mitch...

That is great that you sent the pictures. I have many, but certainly not all of the pictures. I have the picture of Kathy Farkas and me standing together in kindergarten in Mrs. Sack's class.

Lanny Ginsberg! His older brother Howie and I were best friends when we were younger. We lived on the same block, with that big open courtyard Andy mentioned (perfect for football, ringolevio, bean fights, and just hanging around). In those days, middle brother Rickie Ginsberg was known as "Little Rick" and I was "Big Rick". Howie and I used to grouse a lot about having to babysit Lannie when we wanted to climb trees and play in the basements instead.

Howie was a big influence on me, as he was seriously interested in herpetology back then and got me interested in science and natural history as well. Last I heard, Howie had become an entomologist (I believe he either studied or taught at Cornell). We drifted apart when I became a jock and started hanging around the schoolyard. I'd love to reconnect with those guys on this site, if anyone's still in contact with any of them. They were wonderful people, all of them.

It does seem like yesterday and yes, you were definitely part of "the unholy five." Our kids dates of birth correspond but I added a third daughter in 1989. It was great seeing pictures of you and your daughters. I will need to add pictures to my profile. I live in the suburbs of Atlanta now for 24 years and I'm married to a podiatrist from Mt. Vernon for almost 29 years.
I work at a Jewish Museum (Holocaust and Heritage galleries). I keep in touch very often with everyone but Nancy Vermont. I saw Butch Rosenberg and Phillip Grossman many years ago at our high school reunion. Butch was in Atlanta for business and we had dinner together.
.I ride horses for recreation and life has been good!

Nice to hear from you. Yes, Kathy Farkas is living in Dallas. Never married, but is a successful physical therapist. As Judy Berk mentioned, we keep up with Nancy Goldstein, Nancy Vermont & Kathy. The five of us got together for our 35 birthdays, and tried to meet every five years, but it just never happened again. Too many schedules to try to gel. Probably, when we all become "empty nesters" we'll find more time to get together when we're not constantly worrying about the kids. Mine are both in college now.

After 6th grade I did move to the other side of Flushing right near Whitestone.
I knew your brother was in jericho, he has been there a long time. Tell him to check out the class pictures I posted, maybe he can remember some of the names.
