Hi Daisy, Just a quick hello. I still remember the lovely visit we had a few years ago when I visited you and Evelyn when I was with my friend Gloria Schwartz. How is everything? I leave for Atlanta to be with Debby for a few weeks.
Have a good summer!

Hi Daisy. This is Elaine Wolff writing. I definitely remember you; although now I need to jog my memory a bit to remember more stuff. I know we were in many of the same classes and of course we lived near one another. Maybe our moms were friends in Hadassah? Anyway, I live on the upper west side of Manhattan and retired from being a city employee in the social service (child welfare) world here. Would love to "reconnect".....

Hi, I wondered if you or any of your classmates from 58 remember Joel Epstein, Marc Gradstein, or Alan Fleisig; they were in your class, I think. I lived in the same courtyard as they did, across the street from 164, in the garden apartments on 138th street. Do any of you know what has become of them?

Deal. I think quite a few of us were pulled to the west. I know that Alice Ornstein moved to LA early and is now (well, last I heard some years ago) living with horses on a ranch in Colorado. I headed for SF when I was 17. The landscape where you live is deep in your art, of course. Wonderful.

Yes, I found you via google. I also found that someone took a cropped photo of your house and I must know: are there photos of it available? It looks quite magical. I think you have some fascinating tales to tell! I went through a lot for a number of years "curing myself" of my upbringing (my poor parents!!), but found enormous excitement and satisfaction being a therapist, especially in a college setting. Did you make your family as distraught as I did as you found your way in the world? It's pretty amusing, in a bittersweet way, to reflect on this as a 60-something. Here we are!

Well, hi there Daisy Kates. I truly have looked for you through the years. hooray for this site-connector. I would love to see you again and have a life catch up. You were one of the girls I really really liked and sought out (and I wasn't a girl's girl). We do photography for educational publishing (hutchingsphotography.com) and I write non fiction children's books. Life does steer us on random paths. We live in Rhinebeck in the Hudson Valley amid much wildlife. I love the woods. Will you come to the reunion? It would certainly motivate me. Best regards, Amy

Hi, Daisy. Do you still go by "Daisy"? I lost "Alan" about 40 years ago, somehow or another. Have you been in NM for all/most of that time? What a beautiful place to retire! Way to go, girl! I spent several years when I should've been in college doing hippie things and ended up in California, of course. I've been doing clinical/counseling psych since 1982, so I guess it's turned out to be my career. I'm hoping to do a partial retirement shortly. Great to learn about how you've been.

Hi again, Glad you liked the pictures. Yes, the ones with our mom were taken on a cruise. Now she has no memory, but we sure loved our times on all those cruises with the family!!! Do you still see Gloria Schwartz (Albequerque friend)? If you do, tell her I say hi! I still have the pottery from you that I bought when we visited!

Sounds like life has been interesting. I will certainly send my regards to my folks. They are both in not so good physical health, but still have their mental health. Good and bad. I think my mom would enjoy hearing about your career. Please send my regards to Evey.

Hi Daisy, I still have such fond memories of my one and only trip to Albequerque and seeing you and your sister. Now we have to get Debby to come out too! My mom is now living in the Jewish Home in Atlanta and Deb has been amazing! I am so lucky to have her as a sister! Much love!

hi dorothy (daisy?),
that sounds like (the dance school) best job a girl from Kew Garden HIlls could have. the term "New-Mexican" sounds funny (the "New" prefix). I finally escaped from nyc about 10 or 11 years ago, but still go back there for business; although working on cutting that way down as we speak.
My next door neighbor on 137th Street used to talk about how when he moved into his house (137th street was developed earlier than the street behind it closer to Park Drive East) there were no houses behind him straight through to where The Grand Wyck now is (built for the World's Fair). There was a golf course. Would have been interesting to see the neighborhood then, with it's undeveloped lots.

Hi Daisy!
Welcome to the site. It's so nice to see you. I have such fond memories of living next door to your parents and visiting with you in the backyards! Sadly, I have lost touch with Kira and would love to reconnect. Please pass along my email which is elipkind@comcast.net- thank you. I hope that all is well with you. I would so love to see you if you are ever out east ( i still have not made it to New Mexico, but hope to soon) Again, so nice to see you. Hope to talk soon, ellen

hi dorothy,
correction, i lived on 137th street almost at the sort of "end" where it "T's" into 72nd Street (not Road). re-familiarizing myslef through my map and a few correspondences on the site. 76th avenue i DO remember, that's the street that borders the playground and then goes uphill and to the left. seem to remember private houses. Amy Marguelis (class of '65) in many of my classes lived on that block.
i am a fine-art photographer, have had some success (grants, museum shows) but couldn't quite keep up the momentum. still do it, but mostly for fun...New Mexico was too sunny for me - i'm a New England sort (near the vermont/new hampshire border...)
regards,
peter

Hi Daisy, yes I just learned about the site, actually from an email from you I think through my sister Liz. Can't believe our little school has such a nice web site! I don't know yet if I'll attend the reunion, but it's tempting. Liz told me all about her visit a few years back when she saw you and Evey. In fact, I have one of your pieces of pottery that she brought back for me. You do nice work! Keep in touch.
