Oops. Just looked at all the class photos posted and saw Ms. Baumgartner wasn't my kindergarten teacher, but my 2nd grade teacher! I can't remember any of these teachers...go figure. I do have flashes of memory of certain friends, though...In 1972 I was in class 1-4 (I am the fifth one from the right on bottom row). Then in 1972 was in 2-4 and so on. The fourth grade pic was the olast for me as we moved. Very sad! I went to two elementary schools, two junior high schools, and two high schools and was always sad I didn't stay in one place and have the same friends until graduating high school. Being a kid and having to go where your parents go can be excrutiatingly horrible! hahaha

Hi, Helen, it's Shari Gerson.l You left a message on the page I created on this site. I live at Gateway & Lawrence in Boynton...small world! I didn't graduate from PS 164...I moved away in the 4th grade to Little/Neck - Douglaston. I guess I would have graduated in 1977...

I had Ms. Baumgartner for kindergarten (she left when she became pregnant, I remember). The other grades I cannot remember - would have to pull out my old class photos to see who the heck I had as teachers :)

Of course I remember you and your entire family your parents and sister

Helen, I am so sorry to hear that. I saw your mom, before she moved to Conn and was getting ready to sell the aprtment. She was a good friend & neighbor. My dad also lives in an Atria, in Queens.

your mother was always yelling at us for something... lol but hey that's what mothers do I di my fair share of yelling myself... when my kids were little... now its just at my husband lol.. Bayside????? I don't remember who I hung out in Bayside with.... how old was I ? I don't even think my mother the Gastopo would let me on the bus into flushing until I was in Campbell

My Dad is a Lung Cancer survivor he's been making me nuts since the onset of last year.... soooo he today just went back to PT or at least to be evaluated... long story I will get there when he stops having a pity party... and my daughter is supposed to come down with my grandson, my son and son in law in April, now we are holding our breathe because of my exhusbands father is going day by day in NY... last year was a year from Hell... but I will let you know.. for sure would love to catch up... I see you talk to Dennis Sackett God this is taking me soooo far back... between this and Facebook I will never run out of Nice n easy again... Im feeling so old...... :-)

Wow Helen I remember coming up to your parents house every day after school... and then getting caught smoking.. Are u far from Tamarac? My dad is there and my cousins are not far from him I guess you saw I have 2 adults and one wonderful grandson... not that my kids arent great but I never knew this kind of crazy love.

Hi Helen - Sounds like you have a nice life in Florida. I moved to a different part of Flushing after 7th grade so I didn't get to re-connect with PS 164 friends ... until now. I'm living with my husband and 15 year old daughter in Park Slope Brooklyn and am a fundraiser for the Brooklyn Public Library.

He grew up at 229 Winding Brook of Pinebrook Blvd, near Temple Israel. Nomore family there though.

I have a personal chef businessfor the past 2 years. I was justin NY, visiting with my mom. She has Alzheimersand is living in an assisted living place in Stamford. How is your mother?

I remember you well. I believe you use to live on Melbourne Avenue. We were in most classes together at 164. I don't remember whether we had many classed together at Bowne. What are you doing these days?

I don't remember you from 164, I think I was a year behind, but I think I remember you from Bowne. Were you in Repertory Theatre? Are you in touch with anyone else from Bowne? I am still very good friends with Lisa Blanc.
