Hey Jerry:
It was so great to get your note and hear you are alive and well, even though you are practicing law like me. I've been an attorney for 30 years and still don't have any illusions about retiring soon. After graduating Jamaica, I went to college in New Jersey and law school at Pepperdine in California. I went back to NY to work for my dad for awhile, but have been out here for 22 years. I have a daughter who's 26 and lives in Rye, NY and a son who's 22 and goes to school in London.
Please try to get the song out of your head, or at least remember the alternate lyrics we came up with.
Alan - Sad to say I don't remember. There was another Jerry Cohen in your year (65), but noticed that others from my year, 66 (Jimmy, Warren) did remember you, so maybe it is my old age kicking in.
I was inhouse counsel for Vista Healthplan (f/k/a HIP Florida) for 14 years, but just left. Am out on my own till January. Long story. Do some litigation, so let's communicate further. My email is cohen108@bellsouth.net and my cell is 305-401-0809.
Jerry, Alan Harris here. Don't know if you remember me but I do you. I live right near you, W. Kendall, since 1976. You the lawyer me a court reporter. I just looked you up in the JCC directory but I guess you are not a member. Small world here. You private practice or with a firm?

18 months?
That is no fun.
After the hurricane we didn't go back up that way, but we saw the devastation on tv. I am sorry you had to go through it.
You never know...we may have crossed paths during the few days we were in Coral Gables. Too bad there is no replay button to see if we actually did or not.
Hey Jerry!
How have you been? Haven't heard a word about you or Arlene or Michael since my Mom's gone. Dad is okay, but doesn't keep in touch with his old friends. Please email me.
Don't believe Mal still has that Jag. I've passed by the house and wondered about that.
Coral Gables?
Wow...we stayed near Coral Gables in July of '92! I was 5 months pregnant and were on our way to Key West where we stayed for 6 months. We evacuated Key West and flew to Orlando when Hurricane Andrew was heading our way. Did you sustain any damage from Andrew? That was scary. My daughter was born in Key West. We left just as the island was becoming over commercialized. I loved Key West, but I don't think I would like it as much now.
Gosh...too bad we weren't in touch back then. I would have definitely looked you up.
If your son is your splitting image, is he popular with the girls too? We all need to exchange photos with family...that would be fun. If my teenage daughter would sit still enough perhaps I can get my family picture.
You didn't know I had a crush on Teddy?
I thought everyone knew...
We live in Pinecrest which is a little south of Coral Gables in Miami-Dade County. I have lived in Florida since 1978...amazing how time flies.
Still somewhat in touch with Ted. His mom Mal is still around and still lives in teh old neighborhood. I try to visit when I get the chance since my brother and sister both still live up there. Mal freaks when she sees my son (who is now 12) since he is the spitting image of me at a time when she knew me oh so well. Didn't know about yur crush on Ted, but he never got married so you never know.......In fact, I need to contact him and get him to the 164 site.
My email is cohen108@bellsouth.net. Send me your contact info so one day we might be able to meet on a visit by one to the other's respective city.
I just had to laugh when you told me about the note from Jenny Chin. Actually, I am surprised that she even wrote a note. Did others write to you too? Not sure if you remember, but I had a huge crush on Teddy...didn't make it a secret either, but I don't think I wrote him a note.(Yes, everyone was interested in you, but I remained loyal to Teddy for 2 years!)
Thank you for helping me with the names. I have names of the other kids in our 3rd grade class that I have not been able to figure out. I will post it and then perhaps you and Jeffrey and Martin can help me figure out who is who.
As for me, I am a stay at home mom now. I used to work as an interpreter/bilingual assistant in the music industry in Japan. Went on tours with bands, or interpreted for interviews...I moved to the US to get married. I have one daughter, Harmony, 15, a sophomore. She swims competitively so always have to rush to practice after school. My husband, Gordon, is a production accountant for tv shows.
Hi Jerry!
(But I think I used to call you Gerald at school???) We were together in 2nd and 3rd grades. I remember a lot of the girls in our second grade class thought you were cute. When Miss Riccio played some hit record one day and the girls liked the song, she asked if they preferred this particular artist or you. The girls replied Gerald!
I just posted some class photos and cannot id all of our classmates. I may have misidentified them too. When you have time, could you look over them and see if you can add or correct any names? I know it has been a long time.
Can't believe Teddy's Jag is still in the garage. If my memory serves me there was red leather upholstery. The radio console was enormous. One of these days I'd love to see it again. I return to the neighborhood ( or the "chood" as my kids refer to it for obvious reasons) about three times a year when I take the family to Shea for a Mets game. Either before or after the game we stop by Naomi's near the cemetery for falafel. Then we stop by the bakery to get some rugulah and other goodies. Then we tour the neighborhood. My old house, 164 Park, etc.
