Yeah Peter, I find it funny that you were jealous of the Beatles. *Everyone was though back in those days. I think this is a great website. So what are your theories as why P.S. 164 was a school to remember? Back in the day was it the school of the arts? Today they have a computer lab, a video studio, a dance studio, an art room . Just a beautiful school. So keep it touch. Have you submitted your photos as yet? I have a class picture from the year 1964, I was in second grade. I have to find it then scan it. Hope to do that in the near future. Take care. New England I bet is beautiful.

Hi, Peter; Kind of lost track of this website for a bit... sorry I disappeared. Sounds like you should have been in IGC as well as your sister Peggie, but hey, I'm not putting it on my resume these days. And by the way, anything resembling standoffishness on my part was due to an almost painful shyness. So -- belated apologies! And hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

I was moved out to the Poconos, and ultimately landed in Warren County NJ by the time I was 10, where I have lived ever since ( aside from my time in the USMC).
You know how to land a plane uphill on grass eh? I have always wanted to learn to fly!

Peter, if you go the main page, look at picture #3. I am the one standing directly in front of the teacher on the right hand side.

Peter, didn't take you comment to be mean. Sorry if it sounded like it. Where exactly did you grow up and who did you hang with?

Real nice, Peter. No, I graduated in '66 and I did not get left back. I grew up on 78th road between Main Street and Vleigh Place Park. Was real good friends with Alan Harris. Unfortunately, I really don't remember you. My sister graduated in '69.

Hi, Peter; guess I never really thought about the Buckos' status, although I suppose they were more "working class" than others in the neighborhood. The main difference I knew of was more of one of religion: they were Catholic, the kids didn't go to public school, and I believe Mrs. Bucko was active at Queen of Peace; and as I recall, they used to invite my brother and me over to their house during the holidays to see their Christmas tree, knowing that, of course, we didn't have anything like that! So I don't know, I don't think I characterized the boys as "greasers," or anything else. They were simply my next door neighbors. They were kind and hardworking people -- I also just remembered that Mrs. Bucko sewed, and made me clothes for my Barbie doll -- and the older boys were nice to me. Most importantly, Bobby was one of the best squash players around. Those were my priorities!

Hi Peter, Actually, I do know Greenfield. Not really well but I used to drive over the Mohawk Trail from time to time when I would visit my grandparents in Bennington, VT. I keep telling my family I want to drive that route again. It is one of the prettiest drives I know. As for CT, I like it very much. It's been a good place for us. And while I rolled my eyes when my husband first came home and told me he was considering a job in Hartford--we lived in Manhattan at the time--Hartford has a lot going for it. It has a very good symphony orchestra, good opera, Hartford Stage Company which is truly outstanding, and a lovely art museum. So, while obviously it is not a match for NYC, it is really quite good and we take big advantage of it. And, there is a good folk music scene up here which I enjoy very much. You mentioned Meriden--I don't know Meriden very well although I work at Middlesex Community College in Middletown and we have a center in Meriden on West Main St.

Hi Peter, Nice to hear from you. I believe I do remember you but more from the neighborhood than from school. Where in MA are you living? Adrienne

Hi, Peter, Mr.Bucko was our gardener as well; they were a nice family. Claire stayed in touch with my mother for many years, and I believe still drops her a line from time to time. I used to play squash a lot with Bobby, the older brother, at 164. My dad was a stock broker; he must be spinning in his grave over what's going on!
Regards, Diane

Hi,
I graduated FPC in '74. I ran the radio station WFPR and was in the theatre.
Which town in NH do you live? I was there for an Alumni retreat back in June.

cindy,
up by me, lots of people go to "The Cape" and ALL the gays go to P-Town...I cannot mention things from the old days to my sister because she has no interest and finds it trivial - just the way she is. actually, she changed alot, and is very "adult." She lives in Wilmington, Delaware, teaches math in middle-school, is married with 2 teenage girls. her husband is a Harvard MBA who works for Du-Pont. she is handicapped if you remember (missing most of her fingers). i hope that is not TMI?? i did not have a vacation this summer - although i swam for 10 minutes in my old college roomate's backyard (inground!) pool in New Jersey...stay in touch...

the albertson where your mother lived was the jewish side. there are 2 very fancy synagogues there. as a single person looking for my first dwelling 16 years ago i happened upon the cutest "shack" off of searingtown road. i intended to buy a coop in bayside, you know, from main st. to bayside, a step up, ha. this shack was adorable but it was the property that got me. did i know i was a farmer in another life? this was acrooss the street from ridge. albertson also has a great library and its 15 minutes to main st. my father is talking about moving back to main st and buying a coop. on monday i'm goin bACK to see a friend in from israel, mitch pilcer, who's parents still live on 71st rd. small world, nu
