I tried my best, but my daughter who does not live here {RN at Sloan Ketterign fixed it yesterday] It is quite frustrating, and of course i pay a lot of moneyto TW. Anyway, I wrote some boring stuff about How I have flown In a 2 seater countless times, and I had once flown toAC in 2 swater helicpter I too my Mom To AC for Mothers Day "first Class". I warned her this was the firsrt and last time. It was about 1997. Of couse I di9d not pay a thing. You know. .....,.,...So, I was the sole rep. for the class of 1965 at the reunion........LongStory.....all was good though..... hpe to hear back, when you get a chance................Vickie

Peter: I know that most of the cars in the neighborhood were very simple--but my dad liked that MG! My family moved away right after my graduation in 1959, so I do not remember most of the people you mention. I asked my brother, also Peter, who is now 58, whether he knew you, but he doesn't think so. He is also into cars, even more so than was our dad. He does not remember Spot being killed, but he must have been at most 7 years old, and you much younger.

Peter: It is so amazing to have these memories stirred up! I remember the MG very well. My father was an accountant at an Oldsmobile dealership, and he did enjoy that car, although we only had a sensible sedan. I think my parents were a bit younger than the Moses' were, but they were friendly. If you speak to your mother, she might also remember some of the other families from our building--Jim and Esther Murphy, who had a son named Jimmy and a daughter Eileen; Recee Kaplan (I dont remember her husband's name) who had two sons, Morty and Lenny, and a younger daughter Enid. And also, from our courtyard, though not our building--Ken and Dot Mercy, and Horty and Eppy Epstein. Ken and Eppy (Edward) were both engineers, and I have a feeling that the Moses' and the Epsteins were friendly. The Epsteins had an older daughter, Audrey, as well as a son, Joel, close to my age, and the parents were probably close in age..Eppy and Ken played chess together in our courtyard every sunday morning. I was fascinated; I had never seen chess before.

Dear Peter: I was looking over the website and found your comment about the people who hung out on your stoop with your parents (or who lived in the same building) and saw the names Eddie and Evelyn Moses. Aren't they the people who had a wonderful cocker spaniel named Spot? He was run over by a car, and I can still remember seeing his little body covered with a blanket on the road. The entire neighborhood was in tears, and even now, it makes me sad. He was cute and friendly, all the kids loved him.
If that was your building, I essentially lived next door to you, but my entrance was inside the courtyard. I think that our apartment shared a wall with the Moses' apartment. Maybe your parents also knew my parents-Lila and Sol Kaufman.

Yo,Yo!! Thanks for respnding so quickly! You really made me smile! I have been living i this samw apt foe almost 16years [being a singlr parent of 3, even if I lived in Queens, I would never see my kids growing up, with the commute] Right now I cn look out the window, and all the way down to the Verrazzano, and ofcourse the St. Of Liberty etc. I went on disability in 2003. There is a silver lining to it though. My two sons 17&18 have put me though the ringer, even though I was home. So, I can't imagine wht would have happened to them if I was at work. I boght my house in 1986. I put boatloads of money into it. My Dad wh has since passed away was always in construction. He coctracted out almost everything. He even stipped down 40 yrs of paint to get to original moldings. Everyhing is brand new. I just have to stop being scared , and get the heck out of here. The name of te place where my house is is Old Lyme Shores.............. I completly forgot about that IGC stuff& never knew what it meant. The thing in my house was if I came home with less than an excellent report card; I would be killed by my father. This lasted my whole life. Anyway, when you get a moment, please tell me about that competition in Goldman's class. By the way, she wrote on my report that i tended to be bossy! Duh! My father did not like it though. So, what do you do for for fun? I hope you are not a Red Sox fan LOL.............Vickie

Yo Peter! As the kids say. Please, accept my apology for not writing in a timely fashion. My big ecuse is tthst my PC bas been down for about 8-9 mths. It got fixed about 3 weeks ago. We were in the same exact classes fom K-5. My brain is kind of like srambeled eggs, after working on Wal Street, bringing up these kids alone. But, the real straw that broke my back was 9-11. My youner sister Diane who lives in CT near my Mom uploaded pictures she found at my Mom"s house. I still live across the street from the WTC, but I am 98% sure I am moving to Old Lyme Ct, where I own a home whichis a 5 minute walk to the LISound {private beach. 4 private roads] Huge change; But I have no choice. I hope all is well with you. Beleive it or ot , I am going to the reunion! I hope to hear back form you, and that you accept my apology ............Vickie

Dear Peter: It is very kind of you to write to me about the reunion slot that you are unable to use. I am not sure if I will use it, because I think that no one I know, and no one from my class, is going to attend, but I appreciate the thought. I will contact Patricia about it if we decide to attend.
Best, and sorry you have to cancel your plans,
Bonnie

Graduated CU in '75, wow! I graduated Ohio University in '71 and lived in Boulder for about a month in June / July of that year. Went on to SF and eventually San Diego for about a year or so. But I so loved Boulder and the Neds and I guess it was just fate that I come back here. My son and daughter are both students at CU currently although my son is graduating in May and heading back to NYU grad school. We moved here last June from our life in NJ and love it beyond belief. My daughter will be a 5 year student, finishing her 3rd year now. But now we have in-state tuition which really helps. Heading to Vail on Thursday, they just had 17" of new spring powder with a new storm on the way. Bet you miss it here. :-))

Peter,
I was in the class of '66...so you were one year ahead of me.
David Chin may be Jenny Chin's brother. Their parents had a dry cleaning business back then on Main Street.
The neighborhood was not that diverse, but when I look at some of the class pictures that are posted, I am seeing a lot of Asians. One of my college friend's friend whom I met once actually went to PS 164 but didn't seem interested in talking about it.
Anyway, I wonder if anyone remembers the twin girls...

Peter, I do remember your name. My name was Ann Hirschfeld. I am John Hirschfeld's sister. Donna McAlevey wrote me and I saw your comment's wanting to know about John. He lives in West Hartford Ct. Works for the State of Ct. He is a Horticulturist.Never got married. I told him to go on this web site but I guess he is stubborn. Write me and let me know what's going on with you and I'll let him know. Ann

Hi Peter!
How've you been?
I was talking to my mother about the good old days at PS 164 and I remembered there were two girls...Asian...and twins. They had bangs and shoulder length hair. I think they were a year or two older than me, so I thought I might ask you since you were a year ahead of me. These girls were twins, for sure...well I think, because I remember them wearing matching outfits....Do you remember them?
