Dear Erica,

I'm sure you're tired of this, but PLEASE say hello to your mom for me. I was in her class (6-3, class of 75) and I remember your name because she asked me at one point if I had a kimono I could lend you for a costume party or something...

I left NY in 1977 and have been living in Japan since then, but I learned so much from her, and will be eternally grateful. I still have my autograph book from back then with a very nice message from your mom about "hoping to one day see my art work at the Metropolitan Museum" ! (sorry, that didn't happen).

I still think of you when I pass Vleigh Place on occasion!
What are you up to these days?

As echoed by other alumni, I had your mom for my 6th grade teacher.

Your mother was a new experience for me as she had a different teaching style than what I'd previously known. She did not treat us like little kids, but as young adults, and she expected a lot out of us. It was intimidating until I realized it was time to start growing up and get serious about the business of learning. Your mom prepared our class very well for what was expected of us in junior high school.

With all the students she had during her career, your mother would have no reason to remember me as I was quiet and didn't do anything to stand out. I, however, remember her very well and think of my year with her fondly. Please tell her one of her old students from the Class of 1976 sends regards!

We're working on it. Unfortunately, Eric is in Boston for a National conference which he may be doing stuff at and we have to pick up all of Alexandra's belongings from camp on Sun the 18th 'cuz we meet her at Ally Pond Park on the 19th. You're weekend is our shuffle weekend and has been for the past 5 summers. (Alexandra goes to sleep away camp for 7 1/2 weeks every summer.) Sooooo yes we want to celebrate with you but I'm not 100% sure yet because I'm not sure how our puzzle will fit yet.
