Hi, Mitch. My son Andy will be visiting Israel later this month with birthright. He'll be departing the US on 6/23. Part of his stay will be in Tiberias on June 27 and 28 at the Leonardo Hotel. I know you're in the Galilee region. Near Tiberias? Anyway, hope you and your family are well. Will show him your video.
I have to go over to my Ma's old condo - she passed on 2/27 and my brother Marty and I have to clean it out - not a fun task and I am sure there will be plently of old pics from our youth. So can I assume U are not too happy with Obama's speech and pressure on Israel?
Hi Mitch. Your name is familiar, but since you don't recall me, I'm thinking we must not have been in the same class at 164 more than once (if that). I will send you a friend request. Please accept so I can message you. You can always drop it later.
P.S. I enjoyed watching your video. It looks like you and your family have a very nice life there.
Hi Mitch. Not sure if you would remember me at all. My page gives a description of my PS 164 history. I saw you mentioned Richie Piazza in one of your comments to Daniel Meltzer and that got me thinking about a Piazza kid who used to tease me mercilessly at the PS 164 playground. Do you think it's the same person? I thought he was older than us.
Duffy Dvorkin here - how the heck R U? Somehow I knew U would end up in Israel. What can U tell me about Steve Feinbloom - we were roomates at SUNY Cortland and were best buddies for about 5 years during colllege years.
Hope all is well with U and familiy - great pic of U and Davey!
You hit the nail right on the head, though I am getting more conservative as I get older and have a bird's eye view of our legal system. Thought both
presidential candidates screwed up their VP picks, but McCain's judgment is certainly suspect for choosing Palin as his running mate. Hope your family is well and I'm sure we will meet up one day...
It wasn't Steven Feinbloom. It was some Friedman guy. Sad to hear about Feinbloom. I knew him for many years. He wasn't my favorite person, and he was a pretty messed-up guy. I have several stories to recount about him. When u talk about your early years, Mitch, I remember that when I was transferred into Sondike's class partway into the year, after I had won the school spelling bee, you were actually very friendly to me, and you were very surprised at how I seemed to be know so many kids in the class. You even proclaimed me "most popular kid in class." What you didn't know was that I had gone to 164 for K-3rd grade, and had been in the same classes as most of the kids in 6-4.
I had some runins w Feinbloom, but he never hurt me. He would try to test me, because he knew I took martial arts.
Hey, Mitch. Your sense of humor is still quite intact. Your remarks got my wife really laughing. I'm remembering more details now. It wasn't my party that you were begging me to invite you to. It was my actual Bar Mitzvah a couple weeks later. All the invitations had gone out. And I actually had too many guys and not enough girls. Linda Sanders did actually come to my Bar M. The problem was that several girls from our class couldn't make it because they had already accepted an invite for some other guy's Bar M on the same day. His name might have been Steven Friedman or something like that from another class. I was really pissed about that.
By the way, whatever happened to Froggy? ( I think his last name was Friedman also....right...was it Bruce?).
I'm quite sure that you had said that to me. I hadn't known that you liked Linda till you went up to me and asked if you could come to the party. For some reason, it stuck in my mind. The things we remember sometimes seem so trivial , but I'm very sure it was you. You didn't know Gail because I knew her from P.S. 219, where I went for 4th and 5th grades. Andrea Brandon was a grade ahead of us, but I knew her because she was in my Hebrew class.
When it's close to the time next year when my son goes to Israel, I'll let you know. Shana Tova.
Hey, Mitch. Great to hear from you. Saw your Zipori video and was very impressed. Looks like a beautiful place. I've been back to the old chood a few times over the years. Much has changed, but many amazing memories. I've mentioned you over the years to people when I've told them about the Stalag Grapevine and the alternate school song. One thing I've always wondered...were you a Hogan's Heros fanatic fan, or did you have some World War II prisoner of war fixation...or..? What inspired you to come up with those ideas? Also, there's something else I remember about you that I can mention privately if you provide your email address.
Hey, Mitch. Lots of memories from 6th grade. That Stalag song stuck in my head all these years. I posted the lyrics on the 164 school song forum. Living in Princeton Junction, NJ. I visit the old neighborhood once every few years.
Hi Mitch,
It's nice that you went back to visit your parents. My mother passed away seven years ago, so I haven't really been back to the neighborhood for some time. Angelo's really did have great pizza! It must be hard for them to survive now in an Orthodox neighborhood. I am sure the Jewish Center of KGHs must be hurting as well. So what are you doing these days?
Renee
Hi Mitch,
I remember that you lived down the block from me on 70th Road. I will never forget that you helped get my cat down from a tree in our backyard. You actually climbed up and saved the cat! Thanks!!!
Renee

where do you live now?
I still have fond memories of Zilbert chasing you around PS 164 and you screaming that Micky Mantle his 237.
