Hey Warren:
I did send you a message just after I joined, but I must have screwed it up because it never got to you. Remember driver's ed with Mr. Hanzlich?
I'm so glad my brother turned me on to this website. I can't believe some of the names and faces I'm seeing and remembering all these years later.
How are you? We get to NY on occasion, as my daughter and son-in-law live in Rye, NY. Where do you live in NYC?

Karen and I were in the same kindergarten class but I did not remember her name. She ID'd several classmates on my class photos, so I will be adding them when I have time. I just wrote to her, but Kindergarten was a blur to me. I wish I could remember more.

Warren,
I seriously considering going to the reunion but will only be in NY overnight and go on to visit my friend in Boston. If your schedule changes, will you be able to go too?
Well, I hope you are staying on. Is he paranoid? You would not believe all the old freinds from the neighborhood and schools I ran into on there. Get back on. I will be your friend, my friend. To win?
Warren,
I told my father to stop hanging around in pharmacies, its not appropriate behavior for a married man of his stature. What a small world. As far as Cindy is concerned she was our next door neighbor when we moved to 76th Road. It seems she is active on the 164 site.
That is criminal that you haven't been to Israel since 1979. You have an obligation to visit the Promised Land, ask Abraham.
It is nice to be in touch, take good care. It is 7 hours later here so it is past my bedtime while your evening is still young.
As you can see my English is like an Israeli. I just noticed that I wrote are children instead of our children. Don't tell the people that I work for or I'll be out of a job. How are your folks and sister? Any way you can down load a picture of yourself? Nothing is sacred these days...Anybody able to make a living anymore in the US? I shouldn't be so synicle after all we have our own problems here. Forget about Rhody, do you ever visit Israel? If so plan a trip and visit us in Jerusalem. All the best, Karen
How are you? I might be oceans away but I remember my 164 days fondly. I'm living in Israel for over 17 years. My husband and I raised are children in Jerusalem after leaving Providence Rhode Island. Keep well, Karen
Hi Warren
great to hear from you. Stumbled on this site yesterday and it's a blast to see all the old vleigh place people. My parents are in delray beach probably near yours. karen is in Israel and i live in both places. I have great wife 3 beautiful kids and 1 new granddaughter. How's Allison? I get to New york every couple of months. Thats me on the left my son in the middle.
Warren you are absolutely right, I'm not sure why I said 33, but 24 - got to be the age and yes I remember you. I found this site and also in folks in facebook I've been trying to mark up classroom photos to bring back the memories. Boy it's good to hear from you and I'll get back to you with more but right now Mary Ann is calling me to help empty my kitchen cabinets - we'll getting new ones next week and need to take down the old.
Warren, Great to hear from you other than the Gary thing (LOL). Please write would love to hear how all of you are doing.. My e-amil is annbutterjsoh@yahoo.com. Ann
My God it;s been a long time. This is Ann Hirschfeld. Was just speaking with Alan and he gave me this website. I think it is great. How are you? Your family? I am living in NJ with my son Joshua who is 16 yrs. old. Been down here for 16 yrs. Miss NY a little but am trying to get down to FLA. Would love to hear from you. Ann
Hi Warren!
Oh yes, we were together for 3 years!!! I remember clearly your cross bow tie...is that what you call it? Certain things and people are very clear from those days, you being one of them. Could be because of the mystery which you had recently solved for me...if you and David are related. Well, small things like that keep the memory going!
Where in Florida did your parents move to? We lived in Key West for about 7 months way back in '92. My daughter was born there too a month and a half after Hurricane Andrew left a path of destruction (Key West was spared). Hope your parents have not been affected by any of hurricanes.
I live in the northern part of LA known as Northridge. You know, home of the 1994 earthquake. Northridge used to be orange groves and ranches. Luciile Ball's ranch used to be in my neighborhood...but that was a L-O-N-G time ago. We do get the occasional coyote and hare and opossums and hawks around here. And a few miles from here, there are mountain lions and bob cats and rattle snakes too.
Is your son a Junior or a Senior? Does he know where he wants to go to college?
And thank you. I will definitely let you know when we ever visit NY.
Yumiko
Hi Warren,
We own our building and I live in Queens in my own home. However, Abbey Locksmiths does work with real estate companies and management companies so if you need locksmith work at any of your locations, feel free to contact us. We are a family business started by my father when I was born. As you know, we are a brick and mortar business, not a fly-by-night one. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us or just drop in, since you live so close by. My brother went to ps 164, too. And when I mentioned the reunion in June, he was intrigued,. His name is Neal Geffner and he works there, too. Just drop by anytime, anyhow. Thanks for reaching out.
Adrienne
PS~I was heavily involved in organizing my high school reunion. It's a very small private school. The small, but successful reunion I organized had 25 people from the database of 365 from 5 different years. And even though there was an age gap between many attendees, we still shared a common history and knew of same people and shared stories from way back and had a blast. Looking forward to meeting you sometime and sharing Kew Garden Hills stories...... Adrienne
My brother has recently developed diabetes. He works for an insurance company in Manhatten. I haven't talked to Marc Schnee in 25 years. Don't know what's become of him. I have exchanged e-mails with Randy. I don't do bending and stretching before softball games, but I still play at age 52. I'm on a slow pitch softball team where I work. I'm the pitcher because I'm good at getting the ball over the plate with arc pitching. It's good that I can pitch because I don't think I could handle any other position. I can't hit the ball that far but I'm a smart hitter. I usually hit to right field where most teams have there weakest fielder.
Where in New York do you live? When did you get married and where did you meet your wife?
I read your comment. Haven't been called Rye in 25 years. The last time I've been back to the old neighborhood was in 2001 when I visited my brother. He still lives in the same apartment that we grew up in. I call him from time to time and I met him 2 years ago in Cooperstown. I stumbled across this website by accident. I was thinking about PS 164 and wondered if it still existed or if it had been torn down. So I googled PS 164 and found the alumni site. It was a big surprise to find the names of so many people I grew up with. No off the roof in St. Louis. In fact they never heard of the game. I am still playing slow pitch softball though at age 52. My e-mail adress is smf6000@aol.com.
Well Warren Berger. I didn't expect to come across your name. And then I found this website. I also have 1 child, also a son, and also age 17. His name is James. So you must be getting ready to pay for college. Let me know how you've been.

Thanks for acknowledging. I do remember you. In fact, I remember a large percentage of the people from elementary school. Of course, some of them even went to the same JHS and HS, and even college, as I attended.

Unfortunately I won't be able to go.... :-(
One of these days, I really would love to go back to the old neighborhood. Do you get to go back at all? Does your family still live out there?
