HI CARRIE,
I'M WRITING TO YOU ON BEHALF OF MY BROTHER, JEFF FRANKEL. HE DOESN'T EMAIL, BUT SINCE I SIGNED UP I TOLD HIM THAT YOUR NAME WAS ON THE SITE AND HE ASKED THAT I SEND OUT A HI TO YOU FROM HIM AND HE HOPES YOU WILL RESPOND BACK. I RMEMEMBER THAT YOU GUYS WERE ALL FRIENDS. IF YOU READ MY PROFILE YOU WILL SEE THAT WE HAVE A BUSINESS TOGETHER AND YOU CAN GO ON TO OUR WEBSITE AND CHECKOUT OUR COMPANY.
Just wanted to say hi and I hope I didn't scare you off. Aliza Haklay just wrote me as well she's doing great. I know everyone is so busy with their everyday schedules but sometimes it's just fun to chat. Boy did we do that for hours on end in your room...How I wish I could be that little girl again I think I'd do a LOT of things differently.
C'est la vie. Tu sais que je parle tous les jours Français, Flament et Allemande.
We must have been in 5th and 6th grades. I think most of the time we played that game at Joe Sobel's house whose parents seemed never to be home. His sister and her boyfriend were occasionally there. I remember that your father was an architect or graphic designer or something along those lines. Am I close?
... carrie ... thanks for the note ..I lived right across the street from Joey Sobel ... you and I were in a bunch of classes together at 164 .. I remember going to your house once at least ( that beautiful house on the corner near Queen of Peace ) ... in terms of sewing not sure what you are referring to ... beige cap and torn jeans dont ring a bell ... I was kind of dorky .. bucked teeth ... which I eventually got straightened out .. I remember you very clearly as you were always one of the more popular, best looking, most talented girls in the class ... I hung out with the gang around Main and Union Tpke ... Tony Conti, Joey Groom and the rest of them, Joey Sobel a bit in elementary school ... hard to believe its been that long ... the big city seems a long ways away .. we have NYC guests every so often at our B&B and of course it brings back memories of my time in Queens .. I was always very anxious to leave which is probably why I went to Univ upstate and then hightailed it for Colorado after Univ, then eventually finding my way down here to Copan. I remember your sister and your mom and dad ... and as I said we were in lots of classes together although I cant remember exactly which ones .. 6th grade with Rothbird I believe we were in the same class .. looking at all the class of 71 names .. I remember just about all of them .. some more vividly than others of course .. where has your life taken you? Regards, Howard
Hi Carrie,
Do you remember me?. I recall going to your house on Main Street in the pre-teen years. Your house was right off Main Street and one door of your home was painted a bright color. You were "going steady" with Joey Sobel. You two, Jason, me, Alice Goldstein, Ilene Ebner, Aviva Stolarsky, and others I forget, used to play spin the bottle!. I also remember you had a tether ball set up in your backyard.
Great to hear from you. I did live down the block from Alice and then we bought a house on 78th Road and i lived down the block from you. My dad, Jerry still lives in the house. My mom dies 25 years ago. Don't know if you remember my sister Lynne, but she now lives in LA.
I mus say i remember playing spin the bottle in your house(i think it was the den) like it was just yesterday.
I remember playing with you and your sister Susan in your white bedroom and your housekeeper. We had fun!
Take care.
Shari
Senorita Carrie .... just got turned on to this site by my brother ... what a surprise .. to say the least ... I live in a small mtn village in Copan, Honduras. We have a couple of small hotels that cater to tourists, I am married to a lovely Honduran, Angela and we have 1 son. Any info on members of our class is welcome. I lived on Main St and Union Tpke across the street from Joey Sobel, as well my neighbor Tiny Conti, Joey Groom, cant remember the rest. I see there are a few from our class participating on this site .. any news would be fun ... Howard
My father is doing really well and lives in Southhampton. My mother passed away at 75 years old about 4 years ago. They had visited us in Belgium and we come annually to the states.
I remember your father's illness and that you had a ramp installed for him to get upstairs. I was very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. Tell your kids that I remember her as a very elegant, intelligent, poised and thoughtful person. I remember her taking us driving in the pink cadilliac to that supermarket on Main Street. I remember being invited to eat over dinners by you. Your father had a very strong personality and I was so shy around him. They both had their European accents. Were they from Berlin? I guess your house got sold down the road like ours?
After Hillcrest which was even worse than Campbell's I went to Eastern Michigan University. After a year I decided to take a trip to Israel. Little did I know what the stars had planned for me! First I went to a kibbutz to learn Hebrew and work the land. I loved the sunshine and the people and the ocean. The I decided I'd dwelve a little bit into the Jewish heritage and went to study in a school for Jewish girls. Well, the place was breathtaking in Safed the north of Israel. Learning Kabalah was also eye opening in many ways.In short I took upon myself to become a practicing Jewess and got married shortly afterwards to a Belgian. He promised we would never live here!Ha-ha and here I am.
I'd love to see a picture of you and Susan. Somehow though it was a long, long time ago we were like sisters. So it's kind of nice to pick up the pieces and see how everyone turned out. Did you like my picture? I'll send some more when I can. I really haven't changed that much.
Joey Sobel came to Belgium to visit me about 18 years ago. He would send me presents when I gave birth and call me or write. I was very upset that he didn't tell me he was sick. My sister also thinks he passed away though I never heard anything from Fran. Wendy Feldman came to visit me as well in Belgium. She's divorced with 3 kids. She still lives in the old neighborhood and when I come to N.Y. we always get together.
Keep well
Alice
I'm still trying to analyse why P.W. decided to create this site. Is it because she thinks this will keep us young being able to recall our youth or on the contrary is this a sign that we're going senile because that's what they write in all the books about old people that they can't remember what they did or wore yesterday but if you ask them about 80 years ago they can describe everything in detail.
Anyways, I'm exhausted now so I'll just write you some answers. First of all I ended up of all places in Antwerp, Belgium around 1983. I have 4 boys and 2 girls. Aging between 25-8.
One of my son's was learning in a school in Yonker's.
Actually, my oldest son is married as is my daughter. My daughter just gave birth to a baby girl 2 months ago. Can you believe that?
I will submit a picture when I have more time.
Take care
Alice
I remember once I entertained the idea of becoming a photographer. I went to that balley class on 188 st to take pictures of you and Alice at the barre.I probably still have them I should have taken pics of the ballet teacher, Miss Grimaldi. She was a witch. Good to hear from u
Well, for old times sakes I gotta write to you. After all those times we went to ballet together, walked Tootsie, baked instant chocolate chip cookies... I remenber your bedroom and Susan's, the white floor and couch, your charming mother and father and Patsie was it? We had a fun childhood but I guess as adolescents and the 70's everything went hayward.
I'd really appreciate it if you wrote me something about what you're up to these days.
Do you know what happened to me? I'm in Belgium, married with guess how many kids?
