How nice to hear from you. Isn't this web-site a hoot! Although I have a son who graduated from college and is a lobbyist in DC, I also have two little ones - a daughter in seventh grade and a son in third. So this site has brought back many memories and experiences I see my kids going through in a more updated/modern version.

I was lucky in having two great parents. Both are gone now, my mom way back in 1980. Of course, they both are always with me. Thanks for your kind words about my mother. My mom always told me what a nice "girl" you were - you know, Jewish mom always on the look-out for good prospects for their sons! Sorry we didn't get to know one another a bit better. My wife is a southern belle (who sadly never got to meet my mom) whose dad was a Presbyterian minister in South Carolina (where we met when I worked at the U of South Carolina years ago). I often tease her when we have arguments that my mother would turn over in her grave if she knew what I had married -- that is always after I remind her that we are, after all, the "chosen people!"

In terms of friends from the old days - when I get back to NYC I always look up Don Reichman and Jeff Schwartz. Both live in Jersey. Jeff's brother Mike lived in Aspen, CO while I was in Fort Collins, CO for ten years, and we got together a few times each year. Mike also has a young kid and now lives in Napa Valley - sweet guy. Try to connect to Arnie Sternheim but haven't done that other than a call or some e-mails a few years back. A few guys who were behind us at 164 join in when we get together when I visit - Elliott Levine, Jeff Marcus, a few others we met at Parsons, JHS. Stu Weinberg keeps saying he will join us. We always have a great time, relive those bygone days, tease about our athletic pasts, lament all the "girls" we never got to know, and it always feels as if it was only yesterday that we were hanging out at 164.

Don't know if you remember Myles Schacter, but after moving here to Lawrence in 2005, I learned, through Harold Schiff and this web-site, that Myles has lived in Lawrence for about 30 years. We get together and do some things with groups of people a few times every year (we're in an international dinner group). Myles and I were born the same day - March 10, '52 - so we always had this funny connection, though I don't think I had seen him from 1964 until 2007. Hey, what's 40 years among friends!!
