Hi Ed, I found that video of Main Street on YouTube. I just searched for Main St Flushing NY and there it was!

Here's a slide show of Benjamin's high school swim team. He's in the green cap.

Hi Ed! Thanks for the compliment. I think I was born with a camera in my hand! 1D M3! You have one of the big boys! :-) I have been meaning to email you because I was looking at your photos awhile back - love the lighthouse shots! I can't remember now if you have any from Maine on there, but that's a place I fell in love with a few years ago - part of the magic being the lighthouses. They make for some great photo ops. I am headed up there next week. (Can't wait!!) :-)

I didn't know your mom was a teacher at 164! Is she in any of the class photos on the tribute site?

Patricia - Thank you so much! This is great. I remember Mr. Connors. I remember one specific thing that he asked me. He asked my why I never told him my mother was a 1st grade teacher. My answer was that he never asked my what my mother did. I guess I was a smart ass!

Hi Ed!

I loaded your class picture onto the tribute site. It is from the school newspaper so it's b&w, but it will have to do until someone comes along with the color version! Thought you'd like to see!

I know how you feel about NJ vs. NY, having grown up in both places, myself. And, oy!...the graduation sign-in book! I had it in a safe spot, until just recently. Now I can't find it. I'm so upset! I'm not the kind of person to lose things, either. I still have all my class photos, plus the address and phone number list for everyone in the class. I think I might send those to Patricia, for her to post. We have to keep up with the Class of ''76 ;-)

Hi Ed! Wow! You and Mark used to look so much alike, in my eyes, but not anymore! If I recall correctly, you guys have some older siblings, too...like, much older? Am I right? Are you all spread out, or do you see each other somewhat frequently? I'm just loving this blog. What a great way to reconnect with everyone. And, the other day, I discovered that there's an actual PS164 website. Apparently, Patricia even quoted some things that I wrote to her. That was a few years ago, so I'll have to do some updating. But what a magnificent site! Patricia is even more sentimental than I am. I can't believe she kept the school newspapers! Almost brought me to tears. Does everyone have such wonderful memories of PS164, or of their own elementary schools?

Hey Corey - My email is siegel20@optonline.net. Luckily things have calmed down out in California. She didn't have to go back out; someone else took over. Thanks for asking and I'll let her know that you asked :)

Hi Ed, thanks for the message. I'm glad to see that you are well. It's great to hear from you. I miss you. It's good to see messages from Mark, Howard Stanger, Howard Goldman, Corey, and Patricia. I spoke with Howard Stanger on the phone about ten years ago, but I've lost contact with practically everybody from the neighborhood--which can happen easily when you move as far away as Alabama.

Thanks for writing back so soon. You are right about about how life changes us. But some of the greatest memories are from hanging out in the school yard playing fungo or playing tackle football. I look back on some of that stuff now and would never let my kids do what we did! I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.

I see that both Eric and Sheldon joined today too. Sheldon lives in Phoenix and Eric lives in Alabama. I saw Sheldon about 7 years ago, but we unfortunately haven't keep in touch. Have you kept in touch with Alan Resnick or Eric Morgenstern? I went to college with Alan, but we never stayed in touch afterwards.

Hopefully we can all stay in touch. This was a great thing that Patricia Weppler did.

Ed, Nice to hear that you and Mark are doing well. Whenever I return to the old neighborhood, I wonder what happened to you, Mark, Mike Cohen, the Sterlings, et al. Goldman fills me in from time to time, but it's strange to go home and feel like a stranger. Yeah, I'm a latecomer to fatherhood, but it keeps me young--but also makes me feel old. Life takes people on long but often strange journeys. I never thought I'd wind up in Buffalo, and the longer I'm here, the more distant my old (Queens) life seems: neighborhood and neighbors change, old friends disperse, relatives pass on (I just lost my grandmother 12/27 at age 93), and we have reached middle-age and counting. I'm happy to say that I've kept loyalty to the Giants (through good and bad years), and have fond memories of my childhood and youth. It's a damn shame that they often appear in fractured scenes. This website will help to restore many of them. Please give my best to Mark, your parents, the Sterlings, Mike Cohen, whoever else from our old network of amigos and amigas.

We'll be in touch, I trust. HS

I'm doing well. It was cool looking at the picture Mark submitted. I remember most of the students too. He said my mother gave him the photo; she didn't give me mine :(

I live in Flanders New Jersey, which is in Morris County. I think I remember that you are living in NYC. We should try to get together with the weather gets warmer. I've seen Michael Cohen, Corey Adams and Elliott Edelman recently, but other than that, haven't seen or heard from anyone else. I know Mark stays in touch with Gonen Haklay.

I just posted pictures of my kids. I can barely see you in your picture.

Hey Ed.

Nice to hear from you. Would you believe I was able to name all but 3 students from the picture your brother submitted. How are you? Last I heard, you were living in New Jersey?
I am still friends with John Cosachov and had lunch with Howard Stanger last month.
Hope you're well.
