Glad you are keeping our economy strong by contributing to all of our states
financial funds.
I am still in Arizona with a CPA practice with 2 partners.
My oldest daughter is 35 and living in Manhattan and my 24 year old daughter is currently living in Sydney Australia ( hopefully for only another year).
Hi Rick ( I remember you as Ricky) It was so nice to hear from you. Glad you're doing well and thanks for the compliments. It was a very special time for me. I have so many very fond memories of those days and i'm glad others do too. I live in East Meadow, NY , have a wonderful husband who is an English teacher, actor, singer, musician, two terrific children--my daughter is a Bio Teacher and mother to my grandson who is 15 months and my son is a Law student at Brooklyn Law. I am a Chiropractor and I have a home office and my mom is my office manager. And you're right I do look like her. Take care Abby
#1. Thanks for saying Hello - it brings back some nice memories. #2. I'm amazed that you think I even looked similar those many many years ago. #3. And, I am impressed, as I remember a relatively skinny kid - now a Dean and a Professor (and I know Howie's done very well also). #4. I noticed the young ones you have I know the energy it takes -- but, they're lovable and great fun.... #5. Thanks again and pls. give my regards to Howie when you speak. All the best, Henry.
By the way, I do remember Miles.....clear as can be. Remember Paul Gazelle? And I remember Jeffrey Salgo and his older brother Peter. They lived in the last house on my block, by the big fence to the park. He lived a few houses down from Peter Goldschmidt.
A few years ago, I passed by and saw a huge satellite dish at the Salgo's home. My cousin Francine Steiker (Ellen's mom) still lived there until just about a few years ago. and.............
I have most of my PS 164 class pictures......

Hi Rick,
Would love to see you if u get down to Fl anytime. Randy Pretto was a year ahead of us, in my cousin Ellen Steiker's class. I am still in touch with some people from Jamaica.....so I am going to try to get to that reunion if at all possible.
Here is my e-mail as I would like to share something with you about a mutual friend, but not on this webcite.

I remember u like it was yesterday. Ruth is always amazed at the things I recall. I even remember Steven Kant getting hit by a car on 77th Ave. Do u remember that?
I also remember seeing you at the Jamaica High School Reunion....now that was a blast. If u go on the Jamaica webcite, u can probably find Arnie Sternheim.
I moved to Fl right after I got married in 1989. I lived in St. Petersburg for a while, then Tampa, then got divorced and relocated to Coral Springs/Parkland. I am still here now.
I remember your baseball addiction too.....and my mom still has some of those Vleigh Place Little League pictures.
I lived on the block of PS 164 also.....141st Place which is an extension of 75th Road/Avenue.
I worked for TWA for almost 20 years at JFK. Then became a paralegal and then started teaching. I am still teaching reading in middle school.
Boy, u r so right, this website is great. I showed it to Ruth Perlman a while ago, and she nagged me into joining, so I finally did.
This is really a blast......I am still in touch with Karen Gang. Do u remember her?
Deb
Your recollection seems to be spot on again -- Colgate had some connection to Etonic years ago and he did get them at discount. He also told me he spoke to Howie about 2 years ago but unfortunately he was at work and didn't have time to talk. It would be great to get together sometime just let me know when your in town -- my regular e-mail is smgoldfine@aol.com. Give my best to your brothers.

Hey Ricky (Rick?)!
I can still remember you singing your baseball songs and wearing your Little League hat proudly! So long ago and yet I can remember your apartment. Second or third floor? Thanks for filling me in on your life. Your mom was a terrific woman. Very warm and seemed genuinely interested in me. I'm sorry that you lost her too soon.
I couldn't resist this website!
Let me know if you see that I'll be anywhere near you in the next few months. It would be fun to catch up.
Best,
Paul
Thanks for getting in touch and the update. Have to say you have a remarkable memory -- the only thing you didn't get right was that Henry worked for Colgate not a shoe manufacturer.
Anyway, I also became an academic -- in fact I was at Stony Brook doing my Ph.D. in biology when Howie was there for awhile -- so I guess the last time I saw someone in your family was 20 odd years ago. I was at Cornell Med for a number of years but retired when it became clear my kids needed a more full time parent -- my wife is a work-aholic litigator. Ellie has just started Ithaca college (pre-med for now) and Jacob is in 9th grade. We moved to Dallas about 9 years ago (had lived in Jamaica Estates before that) for my wife's career -- she's a work-aholic litigator. Shortly after moving here I started teaching at the local Jewish high school -- 1 course to start I am up to 5 now. Henry retired from Colgate some years ago -- he started his career as an engineer and ended as a patent atty. After Colgate he worked as an assit. D.A. in NJ and recently started as a patent atty for the army at an arseneal in northern Jersey. He has 3 kids his oldest son is a doctor, his daughter (who has 3 kids -- yes Henry is a grandfather) works in personal and his youngest son (who just got engaged) is a dentist in NY. That's about it.
By the way, your recollections about our families was spot on -- my recollection was that you were my first friend and your Mom was a great lady. Well, L'Shana Tova -- and may you and yours have a healthy, prosperous and happy New Year.
Ginz, jeff from the overtaxed garden state. You look marvelous.Hope you all doing good. Everyone here is ok, Stephanie is working, Matt is coming back from Acapulco with his friends [maybe on MTV] and the wife and I hanging in there dreaming of warm places to live. Next time you come to NYC, live large and we can get good corned beef sandwiches and a knish.
I knew it was Myles' birthday as well. He, Larry May and I had our Bar Mitzvahs toghether. I just dont have Myles' e-mail. Have you told him about this site? Both his brother and sister are on it. Either way, won't you give him my e-mail and tell him to drop me a line?
Things in Detroit are tough right now but so far my business is holding up. I have two optometric practices, both at Costco. In this economy, people seek out places like Costco and it certainly benefits me. It has just been a long, cold winter and we are looking forward to Spring.
It is great to hear how well your son is doing. My son is a freshman in high school now. It has been quite an adjustment for all of us. He is always telling me how it is different that when we went to high school and how I don't understand. God, that makes me feel old! The only difference I see is that he has several girlfriends. In 9th grade (I was still at Parsons of course) I was hanging out with Farkas, Rothenberg and Myles, not girls.
But hey, I'm married to a great girl now...life is good.
Happy Birthday.
Great hearing from you.
I'm still trying to get a stick ball game going at the park.
No more squash. The took down the wall.
Give me a call if you can. 917-414-7399. I want to discuss some education maters.
I received my MA at NYU and have taught Advanced Broadcast Journalism and want to start symposiums or workshops in colleges
I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday! It blew me away when you remembered my birthday last year and I wanted to return the favor.
I hope everything is well with you and your family. Stay in touch.
Ginz, I was checking the site and you are still the best looking person from Vleigh place. Heard Mitch Schorr needs another place to live. The guy living in the other bedroom died in his sleep. Maybe your bro has an empty apt in his bldg in the bronx. Well, It is good to see the yankees missed the playoffs. Go mets
hi rick, i see you dropped the "y." thanks for your comment on my wall. this to me is the apotheosis of the internet -- allowing aging babyboomers to get in touch with each other. i seem to be getting more nostalgic over time! my brother is doing fine -- he's a lawyer, living in westchester. has boy and girl twins who are getting bar mitzvahed over labor day. yes, i live in seattle and did very well at microsoft in the 80s. i married someone i met out here who went to jamaica high: jay stofsky. we have a really nice life, although i miss new york and, expecially, new yorkers! i think i heard from debby moin that you're a professor -- that's fantastic. here's my email if you're ever again out this way: areeperlman@aol.com.
Rick, wow 45 years, that makes me feel old. It seems like yesterday that I was hanging out with Lanny at your house listening to the latest Kinks album. If you speak to Lanny tell him that on Sat I went to see a band in Manhattan that just covered Kinks songs, his music taste lives on. regards Brad

I am so clear on our neighborhood friends...and recall your mom as well.
The park was always the favorite hangout.
My younger brother David is still in touch with Harold and Marty Schiff....and our parents remained friends throughout the years.
I also remember Ricky Trevor....any connection with him?
Ruth Perlman and I are still the best of friends.
