I haven't been on this site for many years, but got notice it is about to close. Although you may never see this, I wanted to share something with you. Your success and fame have really impacted so many of us. We all have our troubles and joys, I think your book spelled out many of yours. But having a kid from the neighborhood, albeit a very talented one, go on to become an international icon is special. On those rare times I actually get with old friends from the neighborhood, I'm always impressed by how many talk about you - I think you had more "best" friends than you might have ever expected. But it's fun for us all to say we knew you.
More importantly, there's a great message about hard work, talent, perseverance, probably some luck, from your success that is pretty inspiring. My youngest boy was diagnosed with autism a long time ago. It was not a terribly accurate diagnosis, but as he grew up he did share characteristics of kids on the spectrum. Let's just say he is pretty quirky and shy, Once some friends of his got to talking about KISS, and my son, Noah, tells them his dad knew you. They laughed, made fun of him, but I had a picture from one of our classes, so he took it to school to show them. It was a real nice moment for him. Thanks for that!
You seem to have a great family and are doing well in many ways. I'm pleased for you. I had dinner with Karen Gang a few months back, and we even chatted about your success and how it was nice for so many of us -to brag that we knew you! She incidentally, lost a child she and Arno had to meningitis - just the worst thing a parent could imagine. But my point is simply that for so many of us from the old neighborhood, one person achieved a level of notoriety likely we all dreamed about. I wanted you to know that you really have impacted a large number of people beyond the great music and fun your band created.
I understand you were near KC, MO this past summer, but if the group is ever back that way again, please let me know. My 19 year old daughter is livid at me for being away this last time and not taking her to see you. If you ever want to connect, my e-mail is ginsberg@ku.edu.
Best of luck to you and your family in the years ahead.
Hi Paul I wonder if you remember me--I was Abby Gilbert then. I played Josephine in HMS Pinafore and Yum Yum in The Mikado. I was always singing and dancing in something. It was such a wonderful school to go to. So glad to see that besides all the fame and glory you have a lovely family too. Abby
Just read the Miami Herald and I see you're going to be at the Hard Rock in a few days. That's close by and where we have our meeting every summer.
If you are up to it, come on by and have some down time before or after your show. I have no idea how long you plan to be down here, but perhaps we can catch up a bit. I recently got together with Harold Schiff, which was great seeing him after all these years!
Hi Paul,
(I know I can't call you Stanley anymore, as Ruth-Ellen has told me)...
Just wanted to say I'd love to see you when you're In Florida next month. I live within 15 minutes of the mall, and about 25 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale.
It would be great to catch a glimpse of your adult artwork, as I only have your childhood etchings ......I was hoping we could say hello at some point. Give a call if you can get a few minutes to say hi.
All My Best,
Deb (954) 255-7998

I am so glad you joined this site. I tried for some time years ago to leave your class pictures on your web site! I was so quiet and awkward then and you always made me laugh when you sat next to me in thrid grade!
You look great! Your wife and children are gorgeous and my whole family as followed you for years! You really haven't changed:)
We had a great start in life growing up where and when we did.
Glad to see you happy and of course so successful...........you deserve it!
Hi Paul, Welcome to the site! My wife and I met you after buying your "Mona Lisa" painting at the Wentworth Gallery in Boca Raton in Nov 2008. We have it displayed proudly as you walk into our home. I had told you about the site but I guess it took awhile to get setup. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have in connecting with old friends and nice memories.
Hi Stanley (or do I call you Paul), this is last minute, but I know you're in Seattle today (where I've lived for the last 30 years), and I'd love to see you for a minute before or after the show. Or have you over for a drink, dessert, brunch, whatever. Call if you have a chance: 206 406-9889. Or I'll try again next time you're in town, with more notice.
All the best,
Ruth-Ellen
Stanley (Paul):
Glad to see you joined the site. When I tell all my Kiss fan friends that I went to school with you they never believe me. Now I have proof. I saw you last year at ArtExpo at the Javits. My son was exhibiting there. I couldn't get near your booth, but there was plenty of room at his. :)
I remember post High School riding the bus with you sometimes and you showing me some of the work you were doing in commercial art.
I'm living out in Plainview and working and running business services for an educational publisher. 3 kids, all done with college and a wife of 33 years who is from the neighborhood (Meryl Richman).
Glad to see you're still doing so well...and by the way, the baby is adorable!)
After all these years, Kiss is still one of my top 5 bands of all time.
3 yrs ago, I had first row center at Jones beach and you guys rocked like you were in your 20's!!! Like they say, Rock will never die!!
Keep on ROCKING!!
Welcome to The PS164 Alumni Site! This site will be back alot of good memories when you reconnect with friends from your past. We all had a reunion inside PS164 this past June. It was amazing. Hopefully you'll attend the next one. Congratulations on all your success. I've been a big fan of yours, growing up with your music in the 70's. All the guys we hungout with, used to go to Mama Lucy's Pizzeria next to The Main Street Movie Theatre and talk to your mother there. My husband is a big fan of yours as well. He grew up in Ozone Park, NY. Just to let you know this Saturday Night, October 10 we have tickets to see you guys play at the Garden. I can't wait! After all these years you guys are still rocking out!!!! Can't wait to get your new album. My daughters are even fans, they're 18 and 20. It's really cool to know we grew up in the same neighborhood.

So good you joined.
Your family looks great! I'm Bob Farkas' cousin (incase your going HUH?)
Hope we can all have a reunion soon. Hope to get together.
Your success is well earned.
You look great! Your wife and children are gorgeous and my whole family as followed you for years! You really haven't changed:)
We had a great start in life growing up where and when we did.
Glad to see you happy and of course so successful...........you deserve it!
How would you feel about an 'Uncle Joe' reunion? Of course we would have to find Matt Rael and Jack Miller but I'm sure we could find some gigs.
I hope all is well for you and that KISS gets into the R&R Hall of Fame very soon.
Your friend,
Neal
