To be honest, i really dont remember much. The screaming girls? for sure.
I do remember our GREAT SEATS, thanks for that!
If i am correct, they came and left via a helicopter... I know that i was able to hear alot of the music being that close...i hope your well !
i forgot-did you ever read Stephen King's book "On Writing" not sure that's the title but he said exactly what you said: buy Elements of Style. That's funny
very good advice indeed. this year i had a student that was so opposed to writing i had him make lists and said:good enuf. what authors do you read? always looking to get lost in a book, especially in the summer when i can sort of focus for longer periods of time. have you tried memoir writing?
i saw chris smither on McDougal st. when it was McDougal st. he blew me away then and still does every time i hear him. how does he get that power, intensity, reverb in his voice? his voice is tornado powered.if you are irv's friend then another folkie you must like is Mr. john prine. we saw him together last winter at Carnegie hall. and what about bromberg? who we also saw together at town hall last winter.saw him in ann arbor when i went to school there for 3 years in the 70's.i'll try to find that hebrew school chat.
i hated hebrew school. i was the only girl of my friends that had to go.i remember you guys creating sheer havoc in the hallways with the teachers.i liked the stories of babylonia, mesopotamia and the tigres river but Hebrew i saw nothing enticing about but i can still read it sort of. as Irv says:oy
i saw dylan last year at a venue near me. he played a new song called, nettie more. he sings it in a haunting voice remembering a lost love as only he can do. did i read on this site somewhere that you were at the beatles at shea or was it the fillmore to see jefferson airplane?
Vacations are great times to bond. We now are experiencing
a new type of bonding-with the boyfriends. This first week in August my oldest daughter, Sarah, who lives in DC is bringing her serious boyfriend to the NC house for a week and my youngest daughter is bringing her boyfriend (seeing him almost two years) to the house. They are really nice people (even Jewish so my husband is pleased ) but it is strange to have males around when we have been such a "girly" house for so long. Unfortunately, none of these guys play tennis. My husband is always looking for a match. My daughters play somewhat.
I know that real estate will eventually rebound but it is frustrating trying to sell something in this market. The house is very difficult to maintain, I want something different, preferably a condo on a lake. I've always enjoyed lakes. I grew up spending summers on a small lake near New Paltz, the town is Walden. My relatives had a total of five houses at one time. My mother sold the house about 6 years ago and I never got over the lost. I really loved that place. There were no motor boats allowed and it was peaceful. My kids prefer pools. The lake in NC is large and we rent motor boats and the kids water ski. Time to open the museum. This week is exciting because we offer a teachers' seminar and I listen to some of the lectures. I may have told you that in one of my emails.
Your cruise sounds great . When do you go? We have never taken our kids on a big trip like that. They traveled on teen tours, etc. but not with us. My husband doesn't seem to have much interest in traveling abroad. I have more interest in that area. My husband and I went to Israel three years ago for two weeks with our synagogue and we went to Italy for one week to visit my oldest daughter who was studying in Florence.
Your summer sounds busy. We bought a house in North Carolina that we will use on weekends but I don't like the house so it is for sale. Worst time to sell a house so we may have it for a few years. Nancy and Kathy are going to the N. Carolina house in July. They fly into Atlanta. It's a three minute walk to a nice lake and golf, etc. (we don't golf), lots of great hiking. But it means that I give up my Sunday horse back ride.
My youngest daughter who is a rising freshman at the College of Charleston just found out that her roommate is from Cooperstown, NY. We decided that is a good thing since my daughter is used to "yankees."
No idea what the last name of Nancy's cousin is. I went on Nancy's webpage and I see that she has been in touch with you and that Barbara wrote you too.
Are there sports around your town in the summertime? Do you take summer vacation?
This week at the museum in which I work, we have a teacher course, so I go in and out of lectures. Several of the Catholic school in Atlanta teach an extensive course on the Holocaust.
I have one child home this summer. She is very busy with her boyfriend and she is babysitting. She starts college in August. She has a great boyfriend so we're happy.
the last name is Corey, Dylan Corey.Yeah a half breed like my daughter, who had her bat mitzvah last oct and we are now in the full swing of adolescent hell. It was Hebrew school they were in.My Aunt lives on Beethoven but this cousin lives in Appalachin, a ways down 17.
I spoke with Nancy this weekend (email actually) and she told me that she tried contacting you. She was at her cousin's house. Her cousin's son knows your son. I may have not have the genders correct. Did you write something to her on this website?
I just returned from Charleston. My youngest daughter is starting college there in August so we had orientation. Weather was not too hot, I guess I'm used to southern weather after 25 years of living in the South.
I started taking lesson in my late thirties, we did some dressage but mostly hunter-jumper and really just having fun. Now no lessons, just trail riding. My friend and her neighbor own 130 acres collectively so that is where we ride on Sunday mornings. I used to ride three times a week before I went back to work three years ago. It's fun, but trail riding is not exercise and it doesn't have the excitement of jumping. I don't know if I will ever jump again.
Hopefully, I will get a picture on this website. My youngest daughter just got back from 3 months in Israel and knows how to do that. I'm ashamed to say that I don't own a digital camera, but that will be remedied soon. My daughter needs to teach me all that before she goes off to college this fall.
Thank you, Jeff. So nice to hear from you! You still look exactly the same. A journalist? I'm impressed. My husband had many books published, so I'm partial to "writers".
Yes, what would we have done without your basement? We hung there regularly. See Eddie G lately? Or Irv the Perv? Are you loving life in Rochester? It's starting to get pretty hot in L.A. but I must say, I like it here. Wish you guys would start coming out to visit. I have room for everyone.....
Great to hear back from you. I'm sorry that you didn't call me when you were in Atlanta. Hartsfield is a horrible airport.
I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, I've been married for 29 years, have three daughters (ages 25, 22, and 18). I work at a Jewish museum and we have a great new exhibit on the Leo Frank case. Come back down to Atlanta and you can write an article about it. I think the exhibit is going to New York next.
I spend my Sundays horse back riding.
I'm still in touch with Kathy Farkas, Barbara Perlmuter, and Nancy G. I'm in and out of New York for weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, etc. Are you in Binghampton?
I don't blame you for escaping the noise of New York.
