Hi Chisako! Yes, it was a wonderful night and I am so glad you made the trip to the US for it! It's a living tribute to 164 that a student would go through so much effort to make it back one more time! It was a magical night and thank you for helping to make it so!

Hi Chisako!
Gosh, I still cannot believe you flew out for the weekend from Japan!
But you know what? If I were still living in Tokyo, I probably would have done the same thing. I am glad I got to meet you...but didn't have much time to chat. Hope to talk to you soon via this site.

Hi Chisako,

How's everything? Are you still enjoying your time off or are you get bored yet? I can't wait to see ya and go to the reunion. It's only less than 3 months away. What day are you flying into NY? Are you still staying for the whole summer?Where are you staying?I've just been working a lot and being cold. I wish the warm weather would get here already.

Hi Chisako,

How are you and your family doing? Did you go back to work yet? If not, enjoy your time off with your family. Don't rush into anything. The main thing is be happy with whatever you do. Life is too short. About 4 years ago I was between jobs and was so bored of staying home. I'm happy working now and with my job. Wow, time is flying. Only 4 months to the reunion. I still need to send my money in? I hope you are still coming. How's the weather in Japan? it's been freezing here in NY. I hate it. I can't wait until the spring and summer. Your son must be getting big. Please post some pictures of you and your family on this site. I need to find pictures that I have of us from164 and post them. I'll talk to you soon.

Hi Chisako,

I'm so happy that you joined. I told you that this website is great. How's everything? How's your family? See, now you really have an excuse to come to NY. That would be really great if you could make it to the reunion. You need to post some pictures of you and your family. I still keep thinking about how you told me that you worked in the UN. Was your office on the third floor and did you go to that lounge with the couches on your lunch hour? Do you have any friends that still work there? How old is your son? My daughter Bianca is graduating on June 25 and my Dad and step-Mom are coming in from Florida to attend. They'll be staying with me for 1 week. Then on Saturday night June 28th we're making my daughter a big graduation party. I'm going to sleep now. before you know it I have to wake up for work. let me know whats going on in your life.

Ah! Now I get it. I moved before you did. I didn't remember that.! So we must've written letters until you moved to Japan. Gosh, I'm so sorry I don't have those letters anymore. I'm such a neat-freak and always feel the need to de-clutter the house. But, in my mind's eye, I can still see the beautiful girl in the beautiful dress that you drew for me, on one of your envelopes! You are right, I did move to N.J. I thought it would be a great thing, at the time, but those next 6 years turned out to be very hard for me. I'm so touched to know that you were disappointed when I moved! I have the fondest memories of those days in NY. I'm glad to hear that you were similarly affected by the experience. What did P.S. 164 do to us, that so many of us came out feeling this way?? I must tell you that I was so emotional, after getting your email on Thursday. I would've written a longer response to you, that morning, but I was in a rush to go to my daughter's graduation from junior high school. And, from there, I had to go to my son's school play. He was playing the role of Daddy Warbucks, in the play "Annie." (Like mother, like son!) When I picked up my mother, for the graduation, and I told her about your email, she started to well up with tears, too! She remembers you very very fondly and was so touched that you remembered her! She had been asking me, every now and then, whether you had joined the site, yet. How are your parents and brother doing? My brother is a lawyer in Texas (he is on this site, too). My dad died 3 years ago. He and my mom moved from NJ to the Philadelphia area, about 12 years ago. They bought a house, one mile away from me, and it has been very convenient for all of us. By the way, I think it is so appropriate that you became a journalist! Are you still drawing, as well? I remember that you used to do colored sand-art in a bowl...am I right? How did you meet your husband? Did you find it difficult to re-integrate into the Japanese culture/language when you moved back to Japan? (Didn't you go to "Japanese School" while you lived in NY? I remember that Kent did. I recall him teaching the class, in 2nd grade, to say "Ohayo Gozaeemasu." During that same presentation, he played a recording of a Japanese song whose melody has stuck with me, ever since. It must be a famous Japanese song, because I hear it on the loudspeaker, every once in a while, in department stores. I can still sing it for you!) How did you find out about this site? Or, rather, how did they find YOU? Well...I could go on and on "interrogating" you with a million questions! :-) I know that you live very far away, but I really hope you will consider coming to the reunion, next June. I would so love to see you. Imagine...if we had had the internet, back in our day, we could have continued to correspond so easily, rather than lose touch...

Oops! I just read your bio. I see that you are in Japan. I thought that's where you moved to. I see that you have kept up your English, then, after all these years. How did you manage that?! By the way, if I recall correctly, Kent Suzuki moved back to Japan with his family, as well. Do you happen to know anything about him?

Oh Chisako!!! I have been looking for you for YEARS!!!! I remember you very very well. I remember what a great artist and writer you were, I remember going to your house and, if I remember correctly, you had a little brother. Until about 20 years ago, when I did some regretable spring cleaning, I still had several letters from you, with beautiful drawings on them, but I don't remember where it was that you moved away to. Where DID you move to? And where are you now? I've googled you several times over the years, on the internet, without any success. What has life been like, for you?
