I know, this is amazing. I live in North Beach now. Beautiful!
Lived here on and off over the past 20 years, with 6 years in Mass. in between.
Just seeing all the names from the old neighborhood is making me weepy...
Donna, I hope you remeber me, Ann Hirschfeld, my brother is John. How are you are your family??? I live in NJ with my son Josh who is 16yr old. Would love to hear from you, Ann
Hey Donna- Here's a little blast from your past! Is this site crazy or what?
It's been 40 years-- pretty hard to believe, isn't it? Do you have any contact with anyone from our old crew? I ran into Barbara Golann a long time ago in a restaurant on Long Island. She was married with kids and lived on LI, but didn't keep in touch. Hope life's been good in CA. San Francisco is such a great place.
Would love to hear from you. be in touch

Y E S - my mom told me they spoke. she got mad at me for saying that she had so many face-lifts; which Joan told her she knew. i guess she's embarrassed or she wants to keep it a secret. she does, however look younger than me...
donna,
i specifically remember how they changed the format of the class photos in 1965 to individual portraits. much less atmospheric than the previous ones in the classrooms with blackboards, lessons and stuff to look at behind the students. I can't specifically say i remember you, but of course i was much more into just my immediate friends in my class. thanks for guiding me thru the site - you must be smart; did you make "SP?"
peter
donna,
how do i find that image on the site? i tried a "4-2" and a "1965" search under photos and class 4-2 does not show up. interesting how some people like chatting (like, a lot) and some are only semi-interested. some seem to want to network for business...)
my mom's phone in West Palm Beach: 561-630-3435 if Joan Schragin wants to call - sure she'd be delighted.
i always liked New England (not New York, and not a West Coast person...) and went to college first 2 years in New Hampshire. i wouldn't consider living anywhere else. btw, i am included in a group show (i'm an artist/photographer) in San Bernardino early October...although that is sort of far away from you. i have a small airplane (am a pilot), and plan to visit friends in the Bay area...maybe say hello? anyway, guide me to your pic on the site and i'll try and ID you, John Hirschfield and anyone else. what did Suzanne end up doing/living, etc. my mother said she used to have a crush on me, but she might only have said that so I'd agree to play with her, which was convenient because she was always hanging around Joan. my sister is quite distinterested in all this nostalgia, but i enjoy communicating with the 164 people who are equally interested in the old schoolyard, Vleigh Place and all the other topics...peter
Hi Donna, I do remember you very well. I was recently looking at the class pictures and easily remembered your name when I saw your picture. Cheryl Ringler I also remember well. Barbara Golan's name I remember but I can't picture her. Weren't you also friends with Cindy Brodsky and Fran Sobel? I am doing well and living in Bethpage, Long Island. Hope all is well with you too. Are you still friends with anyone from 164?
Ken
Donna, Donna, I remember your name so well, but I just cannot picture you. Make me remember. I remember everything about Glee Club, so tell me what you did in the shows and it might all come back.......
Hi Donna, we sure did have a good block. I think we can hold our own "Regency Reunion". Still go by the old block. Married with two boys, 23 and 20. This site brings alot of memories back. Lots of people to remember (sometimes its difficult). How are you doing? -Zivo
Donna McAlevey! Wow. Of course I remember you and your sisters, though I confess that was a time in my life (jr/sr high school) that I've mostly managed to forget. I think both our families went through some hard times back then, and I envied you girls for having each other.
I was sorry to read about your mom and dad passing away. Your dad was a larger than life character, like mine. They'd be the center of attention in any crowd they were in. They really enjoyed each other's company and were best of friends. I lost my folks back around the time my 16 year old was born, both to strokes, which was no surprise considering their habits. Guess I was surprised they made it as long as they did. But they'd moved out to Long Beach by then, and the long walks in the fresh air did them good.
I'd love to hear what you and your sisters have been up to. It's hard to imagine it's been 40 years...
happy to hear you are doing well. don't know what happened to the leger's or derenfeld's. thought they might be with you. also the buccheris' (sp?) cousin is an admin in our brokerage firm, and i gave her the site to give to them. they haven't joined as of yet. warren
Donna,

Shortly after i had a boy , Jason Scott. He will be married in July of 09. My marriage lasted 10 years with my first husband ( Wayne). I am now married to a man named George ,17 Years now.. 2 children came with him. I raised his kids too. I am a
Yia yia (grandma in Greek) My other grandson is Nicholas now 4 years old.
I pass the old stomping grounds everyday. I work at ps 219.(science teacher) I now live in Howard beach. Mom still around, she was doing well , till about 1 1/2 years ago, she had a stroke. She lives with me. I have a 2 family house. She is down stairs with my step dad of 17 years. ( I take care of her)
Sorry to hear about your parents, nice to know the rest of your family is well. Lets try and keep in touch. Cindy
PS expecting a granddaughter in about 3 weeks.
Donna,
A real name out of the past!!! How are you?? I'm sure you don't remember this, but you were the first girl I ever kissed. I was a late bloomer. This was during Jr. High, . I was just making a transition to the Bruce Maisel/Paul Romine crowd, from another group of friends. It was in front of all the guys and girls at someone's house on 78th rd. Remember we used to hang out in the Court, and at the candystore. What was it, "Harolds" by Grand Union and Main St.?? I guess you don't forget those things.
I hear you're in California. Where? I'm in LA. Drop me a note-Bart

Well, it's only taken me a year to respond--but happy birthday to both of us--now another year older.
I am married and live in Westchester, NY and have a 15 year old son. I own a marketing communications firm in Manhattan.
When you say you've been in the travel industry, what exactly do you do?
Hope all is well.
