Dear Linda: I understand this website is closing--what a shame! I never access it, for the most part, but I have been glad to know it was there. I wonder whether people in our class, and friends of classmates from other classes might start an email list, so we could keep in touch, (even if mostly in our dreams). What do you think?
Hi Linda-- It was so nice to hear from you. Yes, I went to Jamaica HS and we did see each other at the 20th reunion. Did your Mom also sub at PS 164 -- I feel like I remember that but not totally sure. My friend and her family moved from Port Jefferson before you lived there. I remember terrific art classes at Jamaica and music in the tower with Mrs. Gollobin and the most horrific gymsuits! But this is the site for PS 164 -- well, they didn't make us wear gymsuits -- a major plus! Do you remember all the classroom parties for holidays and art projects galore leading up to each of these? And white blouses for assembly -- and the most wonderful movies in the auditorium!! Great times! Best-- Janet
I do remember you - yes, my mom is an artist and was an art teacher at Jamaica HS and then John Bowne. She and my dad currently live near us in Port Jefferson. I have lived here since 1977, which is a long time away from our childhood and adolescence - but if your friend still lives here, I would be curious if I know the family.
How odd we are all connecting and slowly dim memories seem to be emerging. I think you also went to Jamaica HS and were also at the 20th reunion?
I know we shared several classes together and like Bonnie, I remember your Mom and that she was an artist -- was she also a teacher? I have a childhood friend who lived in Port Jefferson so I have lots of fond memories of that area -- particularly of going out on the Long Island Sound in their boat -- fishing and clamming -- for a "city" kid living in an apartment -- that was quite a treat! Would love to hear from you. Best-- Janet
Hello again, Linda:
Is your little sister named Alice? I think she was the same age as my brother, Peter; they might have been in the same class.
Also, I wondered whether you know anything about Michael Suffin, Frances Bluh, or June Lillie (all in our class). They all lived near you, in the street (the curved one), opposite the front door of 164. June may, come to think of it, have lived further down 77th Ave, away from Main street. Just wondering.
My parents, unfortunately, have been deceased for over ten years; nice that both your parents are still doing well (or so it sounded).
Bonnie
Hi Linda:
We were sometimes in classes together, and I remember going over to your house to play on several occasions. I think you have a younger sister; is that right? I also remember your mother --an artist, or at least very artistic.
Nice to learn about you and your family.

hi linda - and happy new year. we just had a little family reunion including my cousin robert cohen - chatted about this web site - your family came up in conversation. my folks are still in century village - sending regards to your folks and best wishes.

Yes, Ellen from Junior High. We're very close, still. If you send me an e-mail, I'll respond with my phone number so that we can talk. I hope you have a very happy, healthy holiday.
Yes, I will be in town between the 2nd the 6th. I'll be in San Francisco visiting Ellen Sakaloff from Christmas day until Tuesday, the 30th. It will be wonderful to see you. My e-mail address is caggranet@aol.com. Looking forward to hearing from you and then we'll make plans.
Wow - I remember driving by our house on 76th Avenue after we moved. The people had painted the shutters pink. I prefer to hold on to my good memories. So, the shutters on my house will always be green and your backyard will always have a willow with a seat around it, tomatoes and berries - and a pixie-faced woman who always welcomed me after school for frozen ices, dried salami and cranberry drinking glasses.
Sorry to hear about Louise. You mentioned remembering my Mom's garden. It was beautiful until the end. We just sold the house in September and Jeffrey reported that the garden has been, or will be, totally flattenend and covered with concrete. I'm preparing to go to Ecuador (this Friday). Daisy will be joining me and my 2 friends for the vacation. I better go and get some sleep so I can start packing tomorrow. Please send my love to your parents and Alice.
Just saw your note on Liz Teitzman's site, so am checking in. I'm in New Mexico and live next door (that is...up the hill) to Evey. We live out in the hills and have both retired. I travel quite a bit and have an art studio where I paint and make pottery. We have a close family with Evey's two children and their children. Please send my regards to your parents. And thanks for having the best Ginny doll collection on 76th Avenue.
Hi again Linda, That is so nice that we are back in touch, and of course if you are ever in the Bay Area I would love to see you! I can't wait to hear about your parents. I wish my mom had her memory, but it is still nice that she is alive and still smiling at Debby and me!
Hi Linda, Debby told me she has been in touch with you. Please send your parents my best. I was visiting my daughter Jennifer, who now lives in Sacramento, and she helped me get my picture and others on my member page, as all the digital pics we take are in her camera and she uploads them. Anyway look at my page and you will see pics of our family, including Bea on a cruise we took in 2003. Keep in touch!
You have a fantastic memory. I loved sketching your Chevy. It was an escape from studying or doing homework. My brother has a large house - he took the two large Bokhara's, Corey and I will get the two smaller ones next Tuesday when the movers deliver our 'stuff''. I can't believe you remember 'health, happiness and a horse.' That has continued to be my mantra - till this day. I did have a horse for over 20 years (until last January). Whenever I'd visit my parents and we'd have dinner on the porch, I'd remember how much fun it always sounded like your family had on your porch. Your parents were so vibrant - and - I just remembered Louise - and - Rusty. And how is Alice? Does she live in Woodstock?
Westwood is close to me. Less than 1/2 hour away. I live on the hill where you see the 'HOLLYWOOD' letters. I basically live under the 'H'. Please, let's get together in January.
Where does Ethan live in LA? Do you come out to visit him? I'd love to see you. Corey is 33 now, a musician, and has traveled quite extensively in the US & Europe.I did know about John Coletti. I spent some time with Lillian when I was back east. Remember 'kee-ah-kee'? More memories.
