Thank you for id'ing Mrs. Goldberg for me.
I always felt kinda guilty that I had forgotten her name.
I don't think there was another teacher in my kindergarten class but everything is so fuzzy...I will have to call my mother in Japan and see if she remembers anything.
Thank you again!!!

Hi Cindy, I've been back to this website everytime I log on. It's addicting. I can't wait to see a name I recognize and email them. The SF bay area is great. I'm sure your brother Corey likes California, too. Its been a long time since I shoveled snow or stepped off a curb into 6 inches of slush. Of course, we do have our natural disasters here. When I first moved here, people could spot my NY accent a mile away, but I lost it now. Best, Ernie

Hi Cindy, Regarding the video of Main St - that is exactly how I remember it because I moved upstate in 1977, so it's etched in my mind that way!

Did you get the email I sent you about scanning, etc? Just want to make sure you got it! :-)

Cindy,

Yes, I do remember you. Long term memory compared to short term! I remember specifically the day you brought in to Mr. Edelsons class an 8x10 glossy signed photograph of the 'other' Cindy Adams who at that time was a newscaster on television and you had written to her since your name is the same as hers. My memory of things that happened yesterday is not as good! Mr. Edelsons and the envelopes he wrote notes on stuck in his suit jacket pocket come back to me whenever I put an envelope in my jacket pockets! Although it was 1967 or 68 and knowing now what was going on in the world, it definately seemed like life was much easier. Remembering to wear a white shirt on Fridays for auditorium was a big concern compared to today. It is fun to read what people remember back then and has made me smile a lot since finding this website. Now I will just have to find some old photographs and add them to the website. Do you remember other people in the class?

Hi Cindy,
76th Road, our own little micro-neighborhood, playing ball and other street games, with the lightning bugs marking the beginning of summer. Sad to help my folks move out of 144-23 in Sept. 2005 and yet perfect to have them in California near Nancy and me. Funny how a couple of years and grades were such a big difference during grade school and now we're peers. Good luck to you and your family.

yup that's me. My dad and mom still live near the school. I will remind him of the strike. I do remember the strike but I don't remember him tutoring. I think I was pretty young. He sculpts, goes to the gym, travels and enjoys the life of retirement.

Hi Cindy, I was hoping you could tell me what happened to Lanny and Stuart. I haven't seen either one in about 30 years. Stu went to Stony Brook with me but I haven't seen him since. I did hear that he had moved to Vegas after college. I see a lot of people still live in Queens. My parents are in Bayside and I'm not far in Bethpage. It's amazing that we can remember so much about our elementary school. Good to hear from you, Ken

Hi Cindy,

What a treat to see photos of you. You look great! I heard your folks also moved off 76th Road. Hope they are doing well. You look a lot like your mother, and I found a photo of Corey and it's like looking at your dad. Fond memories. Funny that someone said they remember when your daughter was born; I remember when Corey was born and the day your folks brought him home from the hospital. Hope you and your family are well!

Hi, Cindy! Yes, my mom was active in Sisterhood at JCKGH. By Leora, you mean Leora Baruch? I knew Leora through Hebrew School at JCKGH and then in High School when she played Lucy to my Linus in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. And I see Leora every 5-10 years at a Robin Rosen Kluger family event; Robin and Leora are good friends and Robin is probably my closest friend (certainly, my oldest in tenure -- 44 years now). Living in Forest Hills? Makes me miss home. I hear that Austin Road has been transformed.

Hi Cindy,
You must be a year younger than me. I was friends with Joel Proper, Joel Steiker, Jerry Reichman, Joey Kaso, Fred Kasner, Stu Bittman, Lanny Ginsberg, Barbara Perlmutter, Tina Ganz, Cindy Brodsky, Nancy Goldstein, Georgianne Sanchez, Kathy Farkas to name a few. I did know Andy Tivoli and Michael Prince too. I grew up on 136 St and 71 Rd. I now live in Bethpage, L.I. Where do you live?

Hi Cindy, Thanks for the email. This is the first time I ever posted a picture of myself on the internet, but I figured, what the hell. I grew up on Main and 78th Ave along with my 3 year older sister Vivian. I went from PS 164 to Parsons JHS to Jamaica HS to Queens College. I remember Willie's although I probably spent more time at the 2 candy stores on Vleigh Pl with was on my was to school. Although I did plenty of chores near 76th like Star's deli, the dry cleaners, the chinese laundry whose family I think lived behind the store, the gift shop (Belle's?.) We share one teacher, Mr Edelson, also 5th grade and I knew Mrs Simon. This is a great site and I'm desparately looking for my class pictures. I had about 4 going back to kindergarden, bu can only find my 6th grade.
I've lived in the SF bay area since 1980 and haven't been back to NY since 1985. I'm finally planning to spend a few days there this year, although I'm not planning on going to the old neighborhood. Thanks for writing to me and I'll be checking back often. Ernie

Hi Cindy! Glad you are enjoying the site so much!! As a matter of fact, Howard Goldman (Class of '75) and I are in the first phase of planning the rockstar of all reunions! As time goes on we will post an announcement about it! I am sure we will be looking for helpful class representatives, so I will remind you of your offer to help!

:-) Patricia
