Hi Cindy, Got your email. I will speak with Joan and I'm sure she'll have plenty to say about meeting you, she's just a excited about this as we are. I was looking at some new pictures on the site today and Robin was in one of them. I haven't found on of myself yet.
cindy,
hi, and i'm looking for your recent comment/reply around the site. there are electronic glitches here - and everything doesn't always get thru. you can always email at estherwasmydog@yahoo.com
WOWOWOWOW!!! or should I say... OYE VAY!!!!! A picture is worth 1,000 words...I believe we all walked that walk, your family looks great!!!! The car, the lamp-post, that was something....Thanks for the walk back in time, PETER....and yes, I knew the shortcut, there was many a kiss planted on my lips (when I was older, of course). THOSE WERE THE DAYS, MY FRIENDS!!!!!
C I N D Y - glad you like the picture - don't think you can find one of the period that better shows the atmosphere of Kew Garden Hills int he mid to late 50's.
BTW, check out the heated arguments between me and the site administrator (not Patricia, the other one) regarding new pictures on the site - on my page...
I have more pictures that i will try and post - including some "Adventure's Inn" black & whites from the 50's.
cindy, replied to your regular email re: your trip to The Cape. meanwhile, look at the 1957 image i just posted located at Park Drive East. since you are the originator of "Cindy Adams Remembers" i believe you will especially appreciate viewing.
HI Cindy,
Yes it's me...blonde(frizzy)curly hair...who is your husband?Where are you living now? I am not close to your brother, I live in the San Fernando Valley or else we could have met! take care Randy Rosenblum(diSimone)
Hi, Cindy. I have to be honest, can't say I remember you, but maybe that is the age. lol I would be more than happy to get together when you are here next time. When you are coming down just let me know. Yes, this site is great. I have been back in touch with so many friends, names I have not thought of in a hundred years. Hope to see you soon.
c,
some logistical probs w/airplane and schedule. only the slightest chance i can puddle-jump over there those dates. have a good time though. do you go to The Cape every year?
cindy,
give me the date(s) again you will be in Sandwich (Mass). i have a little airplane that i puddle-jump around the state with. have landed at some of the fields on the Cape. be a fun excuse to say hello.
peter
Wow, of course I remember you. I remember so much about you, particularly your smile. Those photos even brought so much back. Great pictures. I am currently living in Riverdale. I am a chiropractor, and after practicing in Ridgefield, CT for 25 years I moved to Northern Arizona for the last 3 years. Now I am practicing in midtown NY. I was so happy to hear from you and to hear how well you are doing!
David
Hi Cindy
Now that I look at your picture I see that I remember you as being a very outgoing, and popular person!
Anyhow I am dying to work as a school social worker. I love kids. I work with them in private practice. It seems you need to know someone to get into a school. I guess it is easier for teachers than clinicians. any how I can send you my resume if you give me your email. I would greatly appreciate your help Donna Perlmutter LCSW-Licensed clinical social worker
hi cindy,
we share Mrs Goldberg (hated her/hated me!) for kindergarten (realize different years). my sister had Mrs. Reville. since you were in her year, that makes her your classmate (don't remember her other teachers). i tried to get her to join, but she is un- nostalgic. was disinterested. her comment was "since 3rd grade was my last year, i have nothing to say to anybody. i remember all the names of the teachers you had and i distinctly remember the Mrs. Reville/Mrs. Schmidt connection (both fat - we made fun of them). remember Mr. Edelson. although he wasn't my teacher, we had him for some elective thing - the boys would make models (cars/airplanes) and he would grade us upon it's completion. he was pleasant enough as i remember. my sister is happily married and living an upper-middle class life in Wilmington Delaware with 2 kids. she is a middle-school math teacher. i recently submitted a memoir for the Tribute page (1965 edition) but believe it was refused by the site administrators as i referenced the name we used to call (like everybody knew this) Mr. Gulkin, which was: "Snot Nose Gulkin (he picked his nose).
I am 3 hours from Cape Cod, on, practically the other side of the state (my area called, for the out-of-staters "Western Massachusetts" to distinguish from Boston/The Cape).
btw, those class pictures are fabulous. i have them too, but not sure, exactly where at this point.
if you're passing through Western Massachusetts sometime (somewhat near The Berkshires/but actually i am at the northern edge of the state at the Vermont/New Hampshire border....)
regards,
peter
Hi Cindy, How are you. In your email to Donna you mentioned Joan Schragin, we are still in touch with her. I was in NY in March and I spent a night with her in Kew Gardens. What great memories I have growing up there and going to PS 164. It seems like yesterday, can't believe all this times has passed. I was living in Forest Hills until Dec 2006 - 110th St & 72nd Rd - where are you?
I haven't spoken with Paul Stanley (Stan Eisen) since 1996 but up until then we used to run into each other now and then. I understand his parents live in my town (Port Washington) but I haven't run into them, though I'm sure they would remember me. Back in the late '60s I worked with Paul Simon and was friendly with his brother Eddie for a while but that was long ago. I don't remember Louie Perlman or Donny Schiowitz. I played (drums) with Paul Stanley, Matt Rael(guitar) and sometimes Jack Miller(bass). I do remember Paul also playing in a band named 'Post War Baby Boom' with Matt's brother John Rael.
Cindy, Your slideshow is fantastic. You look great!! You haven't changed a bit. I have been waiting to hear from your brother but never have since he's been out here. How are things going for him?? If you're out here in August, you better get in touch with me. I'll be pissed if you don't. My number is (310)443-5126 at the office. Call if you feel like chatting. Take care. Bart
hi cindy. i remember you. i think i was a grade behind you. i was - and still am friends with brad rudman. i think we were both on the Q44 bus to hillcrest each day for a year or two. hope all is well.
hi cindy,
that's interesting you remember my sister. btw, found my 6th grade picture on the site: 1965 class 6-2 front row 2nd from right.
East Sandwich (without looking at the map, i believe is in the Eastern part of the state. i am in what is considered the Western part, although more toward the middle - it's about 2 hrs from Boston. I have talked to a few people on the site, one of them, jeff modelin, i think i scared off because i remembered something embarassing he did in Mrs. Berkoff's class and believe he didn't enjoy being reminded...
Who were your teachers? Mine:
K: Mrs. Goldman/Mrs. Sachs
1st: Mrs. Weintraub
2nd: Mrs. Silverblatt
3rd: Mrs. Goldman
4th: Mrs. Berkoff
5th: Mrs. Russell
6th: Mr. Gulkin
regards, Peter
hi cindy,
i just joined the site. i was a few years ahead of you ('65) but my sister (Peggie Monroe) i believe was in your class. I remember the names of the teachers. my sister had either mrs. schmidt or seville. mr. edelson severely chastised me for not wearing a tie on assembly day approx 1963.
i remember leaving P.S. 164Q the day Kennedy was shot with Barry Wertheim, who was crying. We lived on 137th Street.

thanks for writing.
I had mrs silverblatt in second grade but didn't like her!
Does your school need a social worker??
