Hi Norina, So nice to hear from you!! Sounds like you really enjoy living out in Albuquerque. I love NM and the southwest in general and it seems like it's a really great area for artists. Seems to me that we sat next to each other in one of our classes but I can't remember which. Just remember we had some good laughs. Take care for now. Adrienne

we moved after 7th grade...the summer "california dreaming" by the mammas and pappas came out. i was so stoked to come out here. not quite prepared for the ostracizing i received - my accent, my clothes, my naivete - quite a miserable year in 8th grade. girls can be so wicked, ya know?

i remember you being artistic - you and glen slapo and tatsuo...you made this awesome, huge wall hanging in the sixth grade and glen broke it down into grids...
how is glen? would love to chat with her - we were cousins by marriage when my grandfather remarried after my gramma died...

Yes, I asked Barry but he has no recollection of you or any of those people. He told me he was in one area (east or west I can't remember) & you & your friends were in the opposite side. Bummer!

hey nmorales, i am a fine art photog (just looked at your website) and believe i was in one of those Red Hook open-studio things in it's early incarnation (lived in Park Slope/Bklyn Hghts/Carrol Gardens and Fort Greene for 20 yrs) you were in my class, but i can't positively I.D. you - attenede 164 k-6th...also, i lived in Las Cruces, NM in 1982 - moved back to bklyn cause i went broke, but in hindsight should have stayed. good for you for getting away from ny.

i was in mr. Gulkin's class for 6th grade. He was a very strange felllow and left relatively early in the year. We had Mrs. Tauschner (sp?) for the rest of the year.

Can't imagine we didn't cross paths at New Paltz. Too bad we didn't
know to look for each other then. I wonder how many other people I
knew but didn't know were students there.

I remember your name. did you have Mrs. Rosenberg for 4th or Mrs. Hoffman for 5th?

I'm surprised we never made the connection at New Paltz. My freshman year I lived in Deyo Hall, in a rental house in New Paltz sophomore year, & an apartment in Rosendale my last two years. My roommates were Ed Hansen who was in the arts program (photography) & Barry Zeveloff, who wasn't. Any connection yet? :-)

I do remember you quite well from all those years ago. I also went to New Paltz from 1971-1975, running the radio station, producing the concerts, working on a commercial radio station in Kingston, NY! And in another strange twist, last month I flew to Albuquerque & drove to Santa Fe to produce a live satellite interview with Governor Bill Richardson from his executive mansion! If only I'd known!

I was surprised that you went to 164 because my memories of you begin with Mrs. Newman in 7th grade discussing Shakespeare at her apartment. Does that ring a bell? Did we see each other at the Bowne reunion? I'm pretty hazy about that weekend but remember having fun and great discussions.

HI Norina, Of course I remember you and yes I am the girl who had long, wavy, strawberry blond hair. I see that you are living in New Mexico. I live in California. It is so strange to hear from people after all these years. I ran into Helene Gluck several years ago in Arizona while I was visiting one of my kids who was going to school there. It is nice to see that you are still in touch with all the girls we were friends with. I left NY such a long time ago and lost contact with nearly everyone. I will have to dig out whatever old photos I have. How is life in NM?

I guess it never took on my site, so I guess I'll have to summarize. I think it is a small world. It was cool that you saw Beth. She was a real nice "kid". i remember our 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Hoffman, becsuse when we beat the 6th grade in softball, we all got on our bikes, and made a beeline to her house, where our excitement was met by her complete indifference! Boy, as good an education that those teachers gave us, that is just how uppity they were!
