It's Deb- David's sister. How r u? Actually, I've kept tabs on you and your brother for many years through David. I also saw your dad down here, in Florida, at my parents before he passed away.

How are your kids and wife? I know you and David hang out together, but I just wanted to touch base with you. I've been in touch with Rick Ginsberg, Myles Schacter and of course, have always been friends with Ruth-Ellen. I've been in touch with Karen Gang also. Jerry Duzenman and I have reconnected through this cite as well! What a blast! You and Harold have some amazing pictures....what a trip back in time.

Hi Marty,
Well, between Ruth Perlman and my brother David, both of whom I showed this site, they got me into it and joined just yesterday. I have been following your life and I know I am pretty much caught up! David tells me and I'm always asking. He always mentions when u guys get together. I think the last time I actually saw both you and Harold was at your Mom's funeral. I saw your Dad down here in FL, shortly before he passed away. I saw him at my parents home. They were terrific people and always had me laughing. I remember your dog, the Cocker Spaniel "Champ"...right?
Yes, I was quite friendly with your brother, Bobby Farkas, and I remember his sister and mother too- Stanley (Paul Stanley) and Eric London. Stanley lived right near the Main Street Post Office, 75th Road. I remember his mother and his sister pretty well too. We were all good friends.
I was in a few PS 164 classes with all those guys - and still have pictures of them all. There is a class picture of us and Mrs. Sondike posted, 1961, Class 3-1. Who could forget any of them? I could name almost every kid in that picture! I have most of my PS 164 class pictures.
I talk to Francine Steiker often, and see her from time to time, as you recall, we are related, so I can put you in touch with Joel if you want.
I just e-mailed Jerry Duzenman, as I remember him as Jerry Kovacs. We all used to hang out in that alleyway, all day and all night, and then there was the park.

Hi Marty, Inadvertantly came across this website...what a find. It's good to see that you are doing well. I have been in touch with Dave Moin and that is pretty much it from the old neighborhood. Not a word from Joel Steiker in years. I saw Harold on the site.....he looks the same. Give him my regards.

Hey Marty, I guess we missed the PS 164 reunion, unless you went. I think I had no intentions of actually going. I see you are in touch with Larry Kinglsey. That's cool.

no, I have not kept in touch with anyone from the neighborhood. Sandy is doing well in Orange County. I remember many baseball and whiffle ball games in the alley. I remember hitting a ball through some lady's window on the terrace across from your house. That cost me a few weeks allowance. I remember the Stegmairs. The old lady was a drunk who used to come over to my house for a few shots every now and then. Do you remember all those football games we used to play in the "court"? Joel Steiker, David Moin, Jerry (I can't remember his last name), I remember some incident when we went to a Jets practice in Flushing Meadow Park and one of us stole a football that was kicked off the field. We took turns hiding the ball in our houses. I visit the old neighborhood every summer. I bring my son Jordan (15) and relive old times. We even play whiffle ball at PS 164. The alley is depressing. Did it ever look so bad? I even knocked on the door of my old house and invited myself in. Very weird. An Indian family lives there. Hope you are well.

Hi Marty, I think we were the "unholy five". Nancy Goldstein and Kathy were here. We showed Kathy the website and talked about the upcoming reunion next June. Kathy doesn't have a computer. Hope you enjoyed your trip. We went to North Carolina and hiked and canoed and had plenty of wine and talk.

Renee, Now that I think about it, I did know Mitch a little in Bowne. Say hi for me. My kids justs graduated from midddle school(5-8). Tommorrow were are all leaving for a week in Lake Placid. Did your mom pass away recently? Sorry for your loss. She was good people! My mom died of cancer about 10yrs. ago and my dad passed away 2yrs. ago. Today I played some tennis with my daughter, Rachel. I thought about you as we were warming up on the adjacent squash court.--Marty

Of course I remember playing squash at Park Drive East. That was where we would hang out in the good old days! My husband Mitch Kornet did go to Bowne. He was an ag student and we met in our senior year. How are things going for you?

Kathy Farkas's friend, Judy Berk here. I knew that you were a dentist. Great pictures. Hope you are well. I will see Kathy next month. She is visiting with Nancy Goldstein from Texas. I live in Atlanta and we're going for a weekend to the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina. I was friendly with Harold when we lived in Detroit 25 years ago.

Marty, good to hear from you too. I live on East 79th Street and York Avenue in Manhattan. My parents live in Florida now. Great Little Leage picture. However, I play on the Royals. And, of course, I remember, David Moin. Convince him to join. It's a great site. Let's keep in touch, Warren

Hi Warren, Its great to reconnect with you after 40+ years. I moved out of Queens 19 years ago and I don't visit the old neighborhood too much now that both my parents past on. In what area of NYC do you presently live? Do you remember Dave Moin? He's one of the few friends from 164 I've stayed in touch with after all these years. I'm trying to get him to join this site.
