My mother used to sit at the counter at Jasol's and drink the egg creams and eat candy. She loved that guy. Goodies was for the teenagers like the class of 1964. They used to hang out there in droves on Fri. and Sat. nites. I also loved the penny bubble gum and buy it still today for 5cents each.

I remember playing both pinball and video games in both places. Goodies had the first Space Invaders game in the neighborhood, and I think the first Asteroids and Missile Command. 7-Eleven actually had some video games in the 80s, I particularly remember spending a fair amount of money on the Donkey Kong rip off game called Krazy Kong. The big differences that I remember between Goodies and Jasols was that Goodies was well lit, semi-clean, and was a place you might actually eat something at. On the other hand, Jasols was dingy, much darker, had a pretty large porn magazine collection, and no one was ever eating anything there. The video games and pinball machines were in the back, where there was a table or two. It was especially dark back there, and I would bet many a shady transaction was done back there. Jasols also had one of my favorite video games in the 80s, a game called Ponpoko where you were a dog raccoon jumping over poison apple cores and trying to avoid snakes before you cleared the level. If you don't know what a dog raccoon is, I suggest you look them up on google, they are one of the cutest animals in the world! Goodies was also the place where my scratch off lotto addiction started. I also remember buying comic books in both Goodies and Jasols. By the way, for those that do not know, both 7-Eleven and Angelo's are still there, last I checked.

I used to love playing pinball in both Goodies and Jasols. Eggcreams used to be 35 cents. My mother used to take me there every night. Years later my dad was on a plane going to California and ran into the owner on it. His name was Julie. I won $500.00 on the lotto in Goodies when it first came out. It was a big hangout there as well. This one is for Lois, do you remember Pac Man in Jasols? Where's my Pac Man money? LOL Do you remember when Goodies became Mr Boardwalk? Also do you remember 7eleven? How about this one. First going into Angelos for pizza everyday, then going to play pinball.
