How's this for a belated reply? (though I know you were asking Nancy) -

I remember Robbie Piazza. He lived on my block for a while, by Vleigh Place and 141 St. I graduated in '61, and he was a couple years younger than me. For one summer at least, he and his dad used to be out in the backyard court every evening in the summer, with a wiffle ball and bat, his dad throwing him pitch after pitch. I remember him starting Little League.

Then he must have moved, because I lost track of him for a few years, till he showed at the stickball courts one summer. And he was good, of course. But he wasn't serious about it. I've enjoyed hearing more of his story here, and about the other kids around his age I'd see around.

hi nancy you were the best female athlete in the grade.all i wanted to do is run and play its so funny you remember that,i too remember alot of great times free as a bird its great being a kid.only the people who were there can relate .i though about 164 so many times through the years where everyone was what are they doin .there is so much to talk about hope to make contact some day god bless.peace out

yes he did he play football for the redmen of st johns started every game in a 5 season career.was voted team mvp in 78 .79 led the nation in passing in 78 .is now helping high school students get into colleges as the head football coach at cardozo hs.

This won't mean much to Americans, but in Spain where I've been living since 1970, my name is a household word among the flamenco community. I received Spain's national award for flamenco journalism, and wrote a book on the subject which was voted best flamenco-related book of 2007.

Love the Paul Simon stories. One of my all time favorites is my memory of singing with Paul Simon. He came to sing for the younger grades and I was the only kid in the first grade who knew all the words to Puff the Magic Dragon. Must have been 1963. Also took guitar lessons from Eddie Simon in the fourth grade.

I went to P&S with Peter, but I never realized that we had both gone to PS164. I believe he is still practicing anesthesiology; is that right? I really enjoyed his "Second Opinion" show; as an MD, I felt he really clarified the issues for the medical consumer in a way that did not over simplify or talk down to the viewer.
