                        &lt;p&gt;I think it was actually spelled Emeric. I also had her in 3rd grade; and we used to say Emer-ICK! She sure was strict. As I think about it now, she should have retired years before; she was a difficult, nasty old lady, and really seemed to dislike kids. Can anyone justify calling an  8 year old a &quot;bad egg?&quot; She did that constantly to many kids. A rarity at PS164, fortunately.&lt;/p&gt;

I would go around the school and demonstrate a variety of science experiments. I would usually volunteer to make these &quot;rounds&quot; when he would start a math lesson. I hated math. As a result, my math skills were seriously compromised as a young adult. I wonder if he ever noticed that I left the room at the same time (almost every day)?                    </summary>
